I may have to resort to becoming a modder so that i can commission a mod maker to make a mod that makes me look like my old vanilla self.

Okay while I deeply sympathise with you as my character also looks horrible. A Modder prolly can't fix this because the issue is the new light source engine and how the lip shadows work. Try bringing your character face on to a light source and see if it helps.
