Wise men speak because the have something to say, fools because they have to say something. - Plato - He saw the ff forums apparently.
It's a shame so many people's characters got screwed. It's also ironic because my character turned out fine. I only plan on using the free fantasia because I was always thinking about giving him a few tweaks since I made him. Face 4 has also grown on me since it makes my bun actually look like an adult and it's so unique. Also, eyebrows; I NEED full eyebrows, for the love of God, SE.

I'll give healer a try up until level 100. If I do not like it, I'm off the role, entirely. Was this what Yoshi P wanted for people like me? Did he assume we were too foolish to take any semblance of complexity? How could such an allegedly open developer act so dismissive towards his own players? The flavor of the jobs I loved so much throughout the franchise were mere husks of themselves. What was once a magical world peeled away to reveal a sterile room of four walls. No imagination, no challenge, only accessibility for the sake of it. I didn't feel welcomed, I felt betrayed.
This thread is proof that despite it all being subjective, some changes created noticeable grievances and others are just people being excruciatingly nitpicky for the tiniest detail that is impossibly noticeable that even their screenshot comparisons don't do them the justice they think.
FFXIV ENG Forums stay consistent, it's why no one (including the devs) takes it seriously.

Interesting that the mouth in this case is the opposite of what happened with most other races and options. Like in this case the mouth has shrunk and the edges are more flat, which is how it was for most races prior to the update.
Otherwise the space under the nose and eyes is more pronounced, which plays into their mistake of going for a more realistic art-style than sticking to what we have had for over 10 years.
You have the same face as before. The problem is the lighting. I went to mare lamentorum to test it and the results are obvious.
As you can see. When shadows are cast on my wol his face absolutely fall's to pieces. The lips and eyes loose there volume and the character looks like he's a reanimated corpse
Hopefully they fix this.

Except... No.
It varies for races and options. In my case the eyes were more rhombus like but have become more round. The eyelashes are longer and more straight, while also being attached further out on the eyelids. The eyebrow is a bit shorter and lost some empty spacing between some hairs. The iris is slightly larger, and there is less contrast between the pupil and iris. The eyeball is now gooey. The mouth is slightly wider.
In the portraits options try adding more light to your character and see if it helps. The toggle is under the pose selectionExcept... No.
