Yeah, my fiancee is having this same issue. It normally happens after a cut scene or if he teleports from zone to zone. We have tried it while in a party and not in a party. XBox is fully up-to-date as well so, has to be a game issue at this time
Date of issue: 29/06/2024 (06/29/2024)
Time of issue: Constant
Frequency: Ongoing - varies based on how often you're moving between areas. Seems roughly 50/50
World name: Ravana (OCE)
Character name@Home World name: Nirixes Malshaan
Class/Level: Multiple jobs (whm, pld, dnc)
Party or solo: Solo - only impacts one player at a time.
Area and coordinates: Area transitions
Steps:
Game locks on area transitions.
This even happens when transitioning to a low-population zone (e.g. from one area of an instanced dungeon to another area in that same dungeon).
This can happen with transitions between adventure areas, loading dungeons/raids/trials, loading cut scenes and even using aetheryte travel from one part of a city to another. The loading circle freezes, the music stops and the game is unresponsive.
Connection Specs
- Type of internet connection/provider: Fibre, 300Mbps down, 100Mbps up. Connection tests found no connectivity issues or lost packets.
- Modem maker/model number: Huawei DN8245X6-10
Xbox Series of the console you are using
- Series: X
Information About the Peripherals You Are Using
-Type: Elite Controller v0.2 (Microsoft), Wireless Keyboard MK235 (Logitech)

I just started playing this game May 7th. Was so looking forward to Dawntrail after I pre-ordered it! To be experiencing this madness all day for hours since the servers came back up at 2am PST is absolutely crazy, unacceptable, and in the long run going to cost you folks paying customers. My partner and I have been starting to play Dawntrail this morning, both on Xbox (one on Series X, one on Series S)
We encountered numerous game crashes when we enter loading transitions. (Teleporting, cutscene loading, entering new areas)
We first notice the loading circle freezing before the music just stops and nothing loads anymore.
This is an extremely frustrating experience, considering we very much looked forward to playing the expansion.
For me this junk happens just as described in the above quote. Get it together, don't tell us to uninstall then reinstall the game. Don'd tell us to check our console settings. Don't tell us to check our internet. The problem is with YOUR game that we have paid and are paying for.
HIGHLY ANNOYED, really close to uninstalling completely, and about just start complaining on all social media channels
Yep. Though the game hasn't crashed for me. Only constant freezing. (And video tearing, like my TV screen has a crack or something.) Which seems to have been mitigated somewhat when I turned off the setting "don't show players near quest NPC". Both of them. The freezing still happens, but it's now once every 2-3 hours or so of playing. The freezing was near constant on every loading screen when I turned those options on.
Very disappointing that we didn’t get any new information. It is rly a huge problem and not a minor thing.
We payed for early access and not early alpha.
At least they could give us a time frame or any new information about how the work is going, If they found out what is causing the problem. I mean are we talking about days, weeks, months?
Just the knowledge they fix it in the next week or 2 would be a huge relief. Knowing nothing feelsbadman.
I agree and we should also be refunded our time for every day we were unable to play.Very disappointing that we didn’t get any new information. It is rly a huge problem and not a minor thing.

I'm often told to buy the PlayStation version but I shouldn't have to. Why give them more money just to play the game? I already paid enough.
I've also found that disabling the "Don't show players near Quest NPCs" settings seems to have helped today. Previously it would freeze up on every second teleport or zone change, but I've been playing for hours without any freezing this morning.Yep. Though the game hasn't crashed for me. This could also just be due to playing at a quieter time, but it's been a pretty stark difference. Haven't tested it on MSQ cutscenes yet though.
I can second this, turned off setting, have had no freezing yet, did Frontline, and now queued MSQ roulette, and did some MSQ cutscenes! So far so good.
Can confirm this does not fix the issue. Two aetheryte teleports, entered squadron quarters, exited quarters and it froze up. Was worth a try I guess.I've also found that disabling the "Don't show players near Quest NPCs" settings seems to have helped today.
