Other tank potencies increased more.
Looks like based on potency / second its GNB > WAR > PLD > DRK.
DRK has highest 2min, so if you got a static where buffs are nicely aligning maybe actual dps will be good, but in random PF or DF it might be meh.



Its been hilarious to watch people get excited over all the new skills being big potency attacks with 60% falloff on 2m cooldowns.I'll never understand why people focus so much on potencies going up. It doesn't matter to the gameplay in the slightest in vacuum, they will go "up" across the board and boss HP balanced so that trials and raids will take about as much as they do now. It really only matters in relation to other jobs (which will be kept in similar balance they are now, in a patch or two) and between the different abilities.
And even for the latter... Under the 120s-spend-all meta, you'll just use everything during burst without caring much about potency priority, so does it really make a difference how it's delegated between skills? As long as it doesn't create some silly meme-rotation situation.



Personally IDGF. The game shouldn't be designed around parsers who obsess over whether one more lucky crit pushes their rank up a few spots.It matters when it comes to damage variance. Having all your potency spread out between multiple abilities means you do not suffer quite as much from that ability not critting. If a majority of your damage is in 1-2 abilities it can make your overall dps jump wildly depending on whether or not those abilities crit under the 30%+ buff windows.
But ask the Gunbreakers how it feels when Double Down doesn't crit during your 2-min burst.
I mean yeah obviously, you wouldn't make Double Down a million potency and every other oGCD 1 potency, where that kind of random chance would actually start to become a deal breaker for clearing content, but you understand what I mean. Potencies going up doesn't in itself mean anything all things being relative.

Dark Knight was already doing the most damage so this isn't really suprising, but beyond that the potency bumps per minute are so close as they are that I wouldn't expect anything to change.
The difference is 38 potency per minute between GNB and DRK, with the difference being 5 potency between WAR and DRK.
That said I think its been like this for a while now, and the 2m alignment basically flips it to being DRK favored.

But if I have to choose between terrible gameplay and massive crit issues or terrible gameplay and no crit issues I'll take the latter.
Then again I absolutely detest the potency bloat we've been getting for like 3 expansions now anyway.
Remember when Fell Cleave was the highest potency attack in the game with a potency of 500?

Not that I can give much still being 90 and all that, but Shadowstride doesn't feel very good to use. There's a brief delay there that never happened with plunge, and while it's not too crazy it does feel very awkward.
Although, in comparison to GNB... we got off lucky! Sorta.![]()

Sorry but even with the new scarlet delirum combo (I unlocked it), the mp gain is exactly the same, so we still lost 1200Mp minutes with the lost of 2 stack of BW, its very urgent to fix that !
