Q4. What are some important things that Gil can buy, I don't understand the full uses of it yet, I just know it can buy some mounts.
1. The main scenario quests (MSQ) continues all the way to level 100. I recommend doing all of it because it unlocks areas and a significant chunk of content. At level 50 you'll also want to unlock the alliance raid series (24 man raids), because that will be required for MSQ.

2. Item level tells you how much stats a gear piece has relative to other pieces. More item level is usually better as long as it is meant for your job. Main stats such as Dexterity are more important than other stats because they increase damage the most. So always aim for the highest item level piece.

3. Crafted, raids, dungeons, trials, events, online store, casual side content, MSQ and various currencies. Glamour is a big part of the game for many people.

4. The most expensive things you can buy are gil-sink mounts (simple vendor mounts you buy for up to 50 million gil), houses (costing 3-50 million gil), new housing skins, new mounts and new battle gear for endgame. Other uses include glamour, crafting materials, furniture, leveling gear, materia, raiding potions and food, dyes and collection items such as minions and hairstyles. Gil is not required for anything in casual play, but it has some uses.
