You're stating the obvious and preaching to the choir here. Still doesn't tell me what point you're trying to make and even less how it's even related to what I said...It's pretty simple, really. How fights are designed is a completely different issue from how you execute your actions. You'll generally find that good players on all roles aren't just focused on what's happening currently. They know what's going to happen multiple GCDs ahead of time. On-demand burst healing as implemented on jobs like WAR rewards players who lack anticipation and foresight. That's what I mean by proactive vs. reactive gameplay. It looks like you saw a word that you didn't like and went off on an unrelated tangent.
Self heal = estus flak.
Anticipated mitigation= parry.
One of these take skill while another doesn't.
The current war is what it look like when player get in the boss room with a rechargeable super estus flak.
You know that WAR still has to mitigate damage to be able to survive to use its healing, right? It doesn't just automatically survive tankbusters.
Estus Flask actually means dps downtime, which Warrior should have on it's self heals tbh.

Crazy how DRK gets its second self sustain button in DT at level 92. It only took 4 expansions later
I personally look at the additional tank sustains as a way for the tanks to get by while dealing with lesser-than healers. I cant tell you how many awful healers you find even in roulettes. Scholars especially are bad outside of high end content. cant wipe if you're constantly healed. Heal

I mean bad tanks exist too but you don't see DPS and Healers getting insane mitigation to compensate against an awful tank dying. As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
