Please, let me just turn off glamours

Cis is not an insult or a slur. It simply describes someone who is not transgender. It's the equivalent of calling someone straight when talking about sexuality.

This is an MMO. People get to dress how they like. Glamour prisms exist within this setting. And eccentric people also exist within this setting.

You have the choice of how to glam your own character. That does not extend to never having to see another character you don't like. Personally I don't like the way men look in dresses either. But I'm not thin skinned enough to demand an option to shelter my eyes from it just because it doesn't fit my tastes. I get to dress how I want, they get to dress how they want, that's how it works.

(For the record, not that it should matter, no I am not part of the lgbt community myself. Nor does the LGBT community have a monopoly on goofy looking glamours in this game to start with.)

It doesn't stop them from playing the game. But this sort of option would require a lot of work from the devs, for something so trivial. Why is your reaction to seeing someone in a frog suit or a man in a dress to want to just never to have to see it and block it from view? Why do you feel so strongly you want to block these things that you're willing to reduce the entire game to a handful of generic glams from your point of view just to avoid the occasional player with a crazy glamour?

Probably the same reason why people use mods to change the appearance of stuff, because that's how they simply wants it.
Some might just want a more "realistic" approach of attires. Not that realism really is a core feature in FFXIV. But at least a tank looking like they're in plate armor instead of a frog suit feels more appropriate and immersive when fighting a big boss.

Not plate, but still not a frog suit or a bikini.
High Fantasy settings often have attire that's more fashion than practical so it's still within the immersion of a High Fantasy.
Good looking armor btw.
I switched from tanking when EW released so I never got to use any fending gear.

I'm more of a clothing traditionalist and would never dress my character in women's dresses / bra tops / etc. that I see a lot of in XIV. It's really not my cup of tea and don't think it looks good.

But I support their right to wear whatever they want. People don't have to dress to my liking IRL or here.

Because you are forcing them into clothing they don't want to be wearing. Choosing what you wear and how you appear to the players around you has always been an important part of an MMO. It's why we even have character creators to begin with instead of just pre-set characters.

The problem here ultimately is you, not them. You expect a lot of dev resources into something that is not only petty, but would also impact their bottom line through decreased cosmetic sales.

Anyway I've been through this merry-go-round of a topic last time it was posted, so I guess I'll stop here. Nothing will ever come of this suggestion, nor should it, so I really don't need to care all that much about posters like yourself and your being trigged by LGBTs or whatever.

If anything, you might want to stop that 5 years of spending if you are so offended because they are only removing more and more gender restrictions, overall.

Most players don't know about Mods. I know they exist and I don't care, and that's how it should be if there is a small extra option in this game. Turn off glamours. No big deal.
I remember the first time I went into the Troja Dungeon for the MSQ... 1 female Miqo'te in a bikini, 1 male Au'Ra half naked with Summer's Flame pareo and nothing else.
It ruined my entire experience / immersion in that dungeon at that point in the story.
Is it fair to other players, to ruin their game with ugly Glamour? I don't think so. I see it even as a Win / Win situation. Everyone wears what they always wear and some off us just turns it off and see others in normal Armor.
Oh and to those who writes that it is unfair to hide their Glam, no it is not.
