But you speak English, so why cant you play with people from the UK? I know alot of French and German they all mainly speak English ingame (some even play the English client over the German). There's no reason there can't be NA servers, JP servers, Euro servers, and international servers.
I will play on a NA only server as I do not speak JP, German, French, etc. and preferably this server would be located within North America for the best response time possible.
So tell me what do you have against the Brits? (main EU playerbase)
Also must be sad, he will never travel the world because of language barrier.... huh sad sad world

I am from the UK and would also prefer local servers, so I can understand where he is coming from.
I don't mind playing with French and German players, infact I do quite often, but I am not up for staying up til 4am to play with people from my Linkshell who are mostly US players and don't see why I should have to put up with 250ms of extra latency either.

I have a worldwide linkshell and can get things done any time, they are all friends and I do not want to be forcably pulled appart, SE could have something up thier sleeves for latancy (even with the internet's unreliable speed) there are things they can do for that.I am from the UK and would also prefer local servers, so I can understand where he is coming from.

FFXI had servers in Japan and no one complained, STO has one server based in US (Yes EU and US play together) no one complains.

Nobody is forcing you apart, the people above already suggested international servers.
You can't solve latency issues like that, the distance travelled is the distance travelled.
FFXI was an exceptional slow paced game with slow mechanics and slow bosses.FFXI had servers in Japan and no one complained, STO has one server based in US (Yes EU and US play together) no one complains.
Us server are about 100-120 ms for me Japanese and Asia servers are 300ms, big difference. the French WoW server is 50 ms.
You can try and shrug it off all you like but you aren't' fooling anyone, FFXI indeed lol.
Tera is launching soon and they plan to have both US and EU servers, why do you think they did this ? when they could have just hosted their servers from Korea .. ?
GW2 will be the same, hell even free to play MMO's these days have EU servers.

Tokyo: 5852 miles
San Fransico: 5207 Miles
So 645 miles differance, you my friend have some problem 645 miles should never add 200ms to a ping, yes I know to get to Japan we have to go through the middle east but that should not add 200ms to a ping ever.

Actually to get to SE's server I have to go through America.
Edit:- (although it seems not any more, last tracerp went through america , doesn't change the fact that its still 303 ms)

Then your ISP has priorities set wrong, its faster to go straight over the europe and the middle east, but from your retarded post in the the authenticator app page you are doing are just really thick.
Btw tested my ping on speedtest.net, using my phone's 3g signal and I got a 390ms ping to Tokyo (SE's server have known problems test a clean connection because come 2.0 their entire infrastructure will be swapped out)
And a 270 ping to San Fransico, so a 120ms differance, as I said thats on a phone's 3g connection.
So yeah your ISP is just fail.
We've definitely played a different FFXI. Did you fight Provenance Watcher? Lol slow paced. The only "slow paced" bosses were the original rank missions bosses, every expansion the bosses were a lot more active to the point you had to be on your toes.
By the way, FFXI being "slow paced" still had nothing to do with the servers being in Japan, because those servers were a hell of a lot more optimized than XIV's.
Ironically, you say you belittle no one's opinions..yet as usual, you do whenever XI is mentioned.
