GW2's last maintenance was in 2012-2014 or so.
Other mmo I play is called Wakfu, a 10+ year old game; their maintenance is around 12 hours or less.
wow's a dinosaur from 2004 and it manages to never go above 24 hoursIt's honestly the norm for Sub MMOs. Both WoW and ESO go down for maintenance to launch updates. While WoW might not do 48 hrs in a row, most expac launches and major patches end up needing about that much maintenance in the first week if you add up the extended maintenance and emergency maintenance's Blizzard does. SE just gets it all out of the way in one go.
When I played gw2, there was a bug that broke a major world boss.
The dev team figured out the fix in a couple days. But they couldn't hotfix it. It waited 2 months for the next update cycle.
1 broken world boss compared to 6+ years of broken healer role is nothing.
Never all at once, but they definitely have exceeded 24 hours of maintenance in a week. And that is with the current expac. Honestly, I prefer SE's approach of just getting it all done at the start to reduce the chances of Emergency Maintenance versus WoW's "lol Emergency Maintenance every day of the week".
