FFXIV have for many years had the reputation of having a kind, friendly and non-toxic community.
So one can't talk bad about it, that would just be rude.
WoW (and other games) that have a more "freedom of speech" feeling, where people can openly be rude have a higher tolerance and are less afraid of speaking their minds.

being toxic is bad yes, but so is being a suck up to a point your afraid of saying anything both coins are horrible.. but one thing ill give blizzard is that the creators for them dont have to be afraid of what they say about issues they have without se going through the stream getting butt hurt over it lol


it honestly horrible on both sides being 2 friendly is horrible long term wise and being toxic nonstop is horrible in short time to long term its like your picking between going into door a with lions that will eat you or go into door b with bats they wont eat you but they will cause ur death just as quick.

Having an opinion in 14 is basicly saying your going to get banned for it or the "majority" will purposely set u off then go cry to daddy se mod



and ps people in 14 are still afraid to say their opinion if it doesnt match everyone else, if its not what they want to hear which is always good things you are in a way treated worse than what any wow player will do to someone .. we may have ppl who do it in a more passive agressive way but its just as bad if not worse with the over friendly bs

Honestly this community is worse than WoW's, at least you know you're gonna encounter assholes there, people in this community are on a whole new lvl.

Also on topic, I don't care for streamers, I don't watch them and I certainly don't listen to their opinions, who actually genuinely cares about what a streamer says?

No, no that makes no sense what-so-ever. "This community is worse, WoW is absolutely garbage, but it's ok because you expect it."

If disrespect and harassment are your only metrics for negative behavior that makes sense.

This community as a whole is so anti-confrontational it's absurd. I played from 2.0 to 2.3 and came back in 3.55. Since the end of HW I've been subbed non-stop for those 7+ years. In all of that time, I can count on one hand the number of times a DF group has successfully kicked someone from a party. Despite dozens and dozens of instances of sandbagging, freestyling, cure botting, verbal abuse, slur slinging, intentional griefing of fight mechanics, etc. People refuse to stop for a moment, discuss an issue, and find a resolution that requires conflict of some degree. They will just keep saying "chill" and "can't we all just get along" in the face of people actively trying to make the party's game experience worse. If you criticize this trait of the community at large, people will send the most vile words your way and feel justified about it.

Personally, I'd rather play a game with a linked city chat, or a global chat that experiences common trolling, but has actual meaningful interactions than just the stale false politeness of FFXIV.

I don't follow any content creator, because I don't really enjoy any of them or their content.
I also don't really know what the healerstrike or really, at it's logical, hard core about.
I have been following the conversation about halers from the sideline for long time. From sidline becaus I play tank, and I am reasonably happy. The usual opinions:
"More dps buttons!" "More need to heal for real!" - are familiar to me. I have sympathy for you. I think sometimes these are expressed in kinda bi-polar manner, but that's just my dumb opinion.

So I don't know what your strike is about. But I would assume that the subject is important to many, 400 pages and going strong you know. And now problem is that some muppets are not making your (the striking healers) strike look so good?
If I was healer on strike... and I feel like the publicity was paramount to the cause... I might suggest the most eloquent and willing communicator of my fellow strikers to write press-release kind of summary. Make it big and annoying and the first thing anyone sees when they ope the thread. To help the lazy laggards like current myself to understand the thing you think is super important right.

If the only answer is "read +3 pages of the thread", thread which is stream of people's variable opinions, I kinda think you have failed. I don't wanna call anyone whiny over this... but it's not the content creators' job to be your flattering megaphone. Surely you new this is not unanimous stance you are championing? And I wanna be very clear, I don't disagree with the strike because I cannot (cant agree/disagree if i dont understand, you see).

Anyway, good luck, you can still fix this you striking healers you. But don't expect random internet soup to be your ally. That's not how any of this goes.

Again. The issue is not that the streamers disagree with the strike. The issue is that a specific streamer, on stream, pulled up the tomestone.gg profile of the person who started the thread and went on a rant insulting them and calling casual players bots.

This is pretty tone deaf. You should have at least read posts before you chimed in.
You should be able to post on the forums without Arthars pulling up your logs in front of 1,000+ viewers to trash talk you. Especially because he's an ambassador of the game and was officially endorsed on the media tour by CBU3 and given an interview with Yoshi-P.
You should also be able to post about your opinions without a weirdo compiling a spreadsheet of your "casual score" as well.

I don't really care about the healers strike and I'm not paticularly upset about the state of healers as they are now but man, it is extremely cringe to harass people for posting feedback on the feedback forums.
And since it's media tour streamers doing this, it looks like SE and Yoshi-P endorse this behavior by being associated with and standing with them.
