At least the holy/religious theme fits WHM from FF games past, even if the original incarnation was all about communing with forest spirits and using elemental spells.

SCH, on the other hand, has no such connection and, frankly, looks ridiculous in a gown. I mean the graduation cap was memed to death, but at least it w as s unique and thematic.

Not only are toolkits homogenised, but the class fantasies too.
I understand how they got to Seraphism but it still pretty weird and out there and really forced.

1. We start with ARR, with SCHs getting their Faeries, with Faerie being a healing summon from FF Tactics (with maybe some Sylph and Pixie thrown in there)
2. In HW, when they gave all the jobs their own LB3, they gave SCH Angel Feathers, which allows the SCH to summon both their faeries and turns them into Seraphs (with Seraph being another healing summon, this time from VI, with Angel Feathers being their signature move)
3. Jump to ShB, where they reworked all the healers to remove most of their DPS kits so they would "focus more on healing" (lol) and they needed to give SCH a flashy, level 80 healing-based capstone skill, so they give them the ability to summon one Seraph
4. Cut to DT, where now SCHs can now absorb the power of Seraph via Seraphism

So Sch has ACN's original academia + magical geometry theming plus its own military/marine tactician, plague doctor, fairy-based spiritualist/mystic, Goetia/grimoire-based sorcerers, orate/mediator, angle-based conjurers, and past FF summoners' healing summons for themes.
It's a lot. (ಠ_ರೃ)
