I actually /really/ like the changes. They should just add more to the character creator now instead of change things.Agreed. I don't want to get use to my new look only for them to change it come patch 7.1.
Just from yoshi-p wording on the benchmark he's aware of the small changes and characters won't look the same and he said they would change things but only if its necessary in future patches.
Which tells me they will change something if its clear bug but as of now. I believe they're done making big changes to characters.
But I like to think the dev team is aware making changes to characters mid expansion patch cycle might not be a good move....

And people would complain that they have already used the free Fantasia and will have to buy another one because they changed things later.
"Another way for SE to milk the players of money to buy more Fantasia".
Not really a valid complaint after the changes go through, though. You get the free one to change to something you like. The changes are done and over with. New stuff should be added after the fact.
They should really take another look at female face 4 and see what they can do about keeping that sharp look. I know I'm not the only one, but I'm not a fan at all. It has kind of dwindled my hype for DT as I can only imagine myself constantly being distracted by how uncanny my character looks now instead of the actual cutscenes.

Agreed, my lizard looks like her face is swollen from an allergic reaction or something; idk why they dropped the ball so hard when it came to the face 4 updates. The mouths especially look like they made no effort at all to keep them similar to the current ones. They should really take another look at female face 4 and see what they can do about keeping that sharp look. Iirc they mentioned one Miqo'te face where the mouth had to be altered a lot more than others due to the old one not working out with the new rigging.
So I can only assume that all the mouths that has had more changes than others also needed it to work with the new.
I can't remember where I read it, but I am 99% sure I read it somewhere in a letter or something.

This wouldn't surprise me at all if it were the case, but it also means face 4 completely loses what uniqueness it has to instead be a nightmare of a porcelain doll. It looks fantastic when emoting pretty much anything, but outside of those emotive cutscenes, it is just a write off. Also, if it is the case, they need to go back over the face anyways because the lips still look completely awful.Iirc they mentioned one Miqo'te face where the mouth had to be altered a lot more than others due to the old one not working out with the new rigging.

If this is, indeed, what happened, they should just tell the playerbase. Then I can at least mourn the loss of my character and fully dive into another character design, instead of this unknown state of not knowing what is happening. These are our characters, and if they have to change it because of knock on effects, so be it. At least let us know.
Same here. I love how my au ra looks now.
I think at this point its better to just move forward and just add more character options later down the line rather than trying to change things again and possibly ending up pleasing nobody. Because if the first benchmark update still has tons of people not happy, another revision isn't going to help imo.
My personal opinion is just let people play with their new characters in-game and see them in different ways like the msq cutscenes and glamours, let people adjust to their characters and I think at that point most people will calm down.
It was in the job action Live letter when they asked people's opinions on the miqo'te fangs.Iirc they mentioned one Miqo'te face where the mouth had to be altered a lot more than others due to the old one not working out with the new rigging.

Was apparently about the canine's fitting with the mouth, not the mouth fitting the rigging.
Memory can be such a fickle thing.

Same, I made my character entirely around face 4's stern and sharp looks. All I want is to keep the looks we have now but upscales. They should really take another look at female face 4 and see what they can do about keeping that sharp look.
