exactly. i want parts of both.
i want longer leveling.(not 3 months per job though)
i do want more difficult enemies.
i do not want exp on death. it takes away from trying hard things.
i do not want forced level capped instances. if i want to go help a lower player with a dungeon i would like the option to sync with them, but if i want to go into lower level stuff to low man it or solo it's fine on your high.
i do not want anything to do with the job/subjob system from xi. that's part of the reason i left that game.
i do want some of the outside abilities, but would prefer to sty away from whm tele's and blm warp. it just leads to people being jerks and charging for something everyone should have anyways.
the market wards need some additional things done, but i could care less about an xi style ah where you don't know what something costs. if i want to buy an item just show me what you want for it and i'll buy it if i want and no blind bidding needed.
i guess what i am saying is i would like some aspects from other games to be in xiv and not just ones that came from xi only. if xiv was as bad as xi was i would have only stayed in it the same short length of time i stayed there. i've been here over a year because i like alot of aspects in xiv more than i did what xi offered. yes, it can be improved, but to say if you don't want xi you want easy mode win is just pure ignorance on behalf of the op.
there's many people that want changes, but those changes are not always going to be black and white xi vs easy mode.
edit: i didn't vote for either option because what i want out of the game is neither option.

I voted for FF XIV
I think 2 FF -2 are enough
This game doesn't take place in Vana'diel, nor does it have any characters from Final Fantasy XI. There is no way this game could EVER be Final Fantasy XI-2 (aka a sequel). I'm sick of seeing this crap.
I want a game i can enjoy where people in forum would discuss ingame content instead of rokien's shenanigans.
i want what you want can i have what you want to have please!!exactly. i want parts of both.

my post was just about showing that just because i hate some things from xi does not mean i am against everything it had. i actually feel there's more people that's in the middle and wants some of both and not completely black and white on every issue.
it's like looking at the debt in the us.
do you want higher taxes to reduce it or do you want budget cuts?
if i was only given one method i'd want budget cuts, but what i'd actually like to see is a combination of both and not just all of one and none of another.

Because the poll is pretty biased, I'll chose neither. I want FFXIV because it has the potential to be even better than it is now, though some things could use some tweaking. Leveling is one of them. Of course it's too fast currently. That doesn't mean they can't tweak things down the road. Death Penalty is not. If we ever start losing XP or leveling down as a death penalty I'm quitting immediately. Thankfully the devs have already said that's not in the plans.
Both games have their merits. However I signed up with FFXIV for FFXIV and mostly because it wasn't like FFXI. Never cared much for XI so I was happy to hear XIV would be different. FFXIV has the potential to be so much better than what we've seen before, why would we want to go back to that?
However if FFXIV is not to your liking you're more than welcome to go back to the dozens of WoW clones that exist out there or find a F2P game that suits your needs, good luck with that. I'm always an advocate of finding a game that you actually like to play. For me, that's FFXIV.
