They need to kill dc travel for at least the start of xpac...aether is already horribly congested and more dead worlds with people DC traveling here will only make it worse. Go do content on your own DCs, sheesh.good finnally we won't have to dc travel for every little thing its not dead center as some think, its actrually active but noone wants to q for anything over here because its 30+ to enter things such as pvp and ally raid because everyone knows its quicker to just dc travel over.. honestly they should prevent dc travel from dynamis for 3 weeks just to get things settled in..

Spoken like someone who only engages in a limited pool of content.
I'm sorry, I was under the impression newbies can't even find queues for story content on dynamis right now. Am I incorrect? This is an issue easily solved by
a) cross-dc PFs, or
b) locking dc travel for the foreseeable future.
They do that because nobody is queuing on Dynamis. It's a vicious cycle.
Nobody is queuing... during the launch of an expansion?Have you ever seen a launch before? Servers run out of instances so even though you are matched with a party in DF you still have to wait because the server can't create the dungeon run yet. Absolutely no one will need your data center for leveling content and they will not travel there if they have a choice. No one will be raiding either since the raids will not release at launch.
I mean I enjoy pvp/and other content aspects and roleplaying but I have to agree dc traveling has created a few problems, for example if ur going to q for an endwalker dungeon/trail u might as well dc travel or ur in q for hours , not because the center is dead but cuz everyone dc travels to aether or primal for them. and the only reason i havent done savage.ultima is i dont want to have a schedule for it where i have to match peoples time zones lol
tbh i think dawntrail will fix dynamis qs big time but still I dont think it will be fixed upon launch, thats why i think we need a week or 2 lock on center travel so the qing can stabilizeNobody is queuing... during the launch of an expansion?Have you ever seen a launch before? I like the new server names.
If i'm not mistaken DC travel was temporally suspected with the Endwalker launch but then things were just crazy.
Rather than disabling DC travel, I feel like they should have given Dynamis players a bonus to queue locally. Extra tomes, experience, gil, maybe even something like bicolor gems to really help lure in some people. Something.
I moved to Marilith the day it released, but finally moved away a few months ago. I didn't always mind a long queue as I can generally be doing other things while I wait, but even still, it got tiresome seeing 20-30 minute (and waaaay longer) queues for things that would pop in less than 5 minutes on other DCs. Towards the end I did finally just start hopping elsewhere to get my things done. :/
It's too bad though. I liked the vibe on Marilith, and I loved how quiet it felt compared to other DCs. But yeah, my time is important, and being annoyed by having to wait around in a video game isn't my idea of relaxing. Props to those who have stuck it out. I hope the queues turn around for you all in DT.

I think that would just make things worse. People have had years to DC travel and meet new people at this point. Imagine telling someone they couldn't see their friends from Dynamis for months because "it's the start of the xpac" or something. People would be seriously bummed out. In theory though, this might help build up the DC... but in practice, most people play this game after work in their spare time; they aren't interested in building a world community from the ground up in the limited free time they have. They just want to log in, do some content, and log off. I'm not saying everyone's like this, but enough people are to where forcibly locking them in a dead zone would have a negative effect. I could see loads of people transferring off or simply not playing as much until they could travel and see their friends/get stuff done in a reasonable timeframe again.
For what it's worth, I would have agreed with your sentiment if DC travel hadn't already been a thing for such a long time anyway. Genie's out of the bottle now, though; trying to cork it back in now that everyone's connected and used to it would be nuts. Square should lean into what they have and give us cross-dc partyfinders, cross-dc linkshells, and cross-dc free companies instead. Break down the datacenter barriers so nobody has to travel in the first place; let people get stuff done without leaving home.
