I agree that most people are more interested in personal convenience.
But considering the ongoing complaints, is that convenience giving them what they're really looking for?
A world doesn't have to be full to find other people to play with.
As a player that's been around a while, I will never understand the declarations of "we don't need more worlds."
I started on Mateus, when there were frequent calls to simply close/merge it with another world (Balmung, usually) because it was so dead and empty. Now, it's population rivals the high pop worlds.
I moved to Zalera when Crystal was broken off, looking for that low pop vibe again. Now, I can say from first hand experience, it's far more bustling than it was back then.
I've been here through the creation of the new worlds (and data center) for EU. At the time, everyone declared this killed DF by spreading everyone out too much, worlds are dead, we don't need this much space, etc. After only a few years, it was clear they were full to bursting and needing more expansion.
So, miss me with this whole "worlds are dead, why bother" rhetoric.
Crystal had the benefit of two already populated servers being merged into it though, and how it quickly became "the" place for RP of all kinds. Dynamis meanwhile was made to fend for its self (twice now with the new servers) and it's biggest claim to fame is "the place people went to for low player Fall Guy runs and less FATE competition for Yokai Watch" and soon it'll be the place that gets used as a load-bearing data center for the other three until the log-in queues on those servers die down.
Dynamis whole identity is literally being used as a gutter for runoff from Aether/Primal/Crystal and once they don't need us for the short-term convenience, we'll go right back to being forgotten at best and mocked at worst. Even the influx of Xbox players mostly went straight to Aether/Primal/Crystal because they knew in advance that they were the most populated, and were the places you wanted to be for raiding, PVP, or RP so Dynamis doesn't even have a niche or angle it can sell its self on to bring people over (except maybe tourist trap, we're about to have a massive ghost town in the new housing districts, lol).

This is a gamble. The only way I see Dynamis becoming active is if Dawntrail brings people in as well as Endwalker did. It's a shame that Yoshi had to restrict people from buying XIV before Dynamis came about. I mean...we'll see I guess. We are on a new arc. Fingers crossed that it gets a decent amount of outsiders interested.

I mean for those who doubted they were doing this for use for DT DC Travel, they are opening the new EU DC the same day ONLY for the purpose of DC travel to alleviate congestion. So it really is primarily for that purpose. The only reason why they are opening it fully here is because it would be weird to have 4 open worlds and 4 'for travel only' worlds.

The EU data center limitation was unexpected but it makes sense because there are still quiet servers on the existing DCs. The difference to NA is that NA doesn't really have dead servers on the old DCs and all non-Dynamis servers are more populated than any EU server. They really want you guys to spread out.I mean for those who doubted they were doing this for use for DT DC Travel, they are opening the new EU DC the same day ONLY for the purpose of DC travel to alleviate congestion. It is also the case that NA is the only region experiencing housing shortages. In any other region's servers you can just go to bid on a personal plot and win it with no competition. They have not announced new housing additions for Dawntrail so this is one way of giving more housing to NA. First new servers, then after some time has passed I bet they'll open the remaining wards in the first 4 Dynamis servers.
I cant wait til 6 people own all of the new servers housing too

Marilith's housing situation is so fucked that the FC housing in the first 3 zones is more full than the private housing.
There are even subdivisions owned by a singular person. But Square Enix seems to support this sort of behavior and even rewards it so I don't think anything will change.
Yo let me sell a idea. Dynamis in the east coast servers. WHAT, a crazy idea, no way this will interest east coast players, brazil players and european players to play on those servers. I must be crazy.
I wish there was more incentive for people to do content on dynamis so people over there didnt have to world travel. But thats the same for all of them. People will go where they think they can get stuff done easier. I myself hate world travelling so I wont do it unless I want to see someone or buy something then I return home.

Also feels like a lot of people are overlooking the fact that this is the first expansion launch after adding Xbox support. It's only logical to expect some amount of new players from that, and new worlds with short queues is probably trying to make a good impression. Might honestly be interesting to see if the player metrics show in a few months that there's a fair majority of console/Xbox players on the new worlds..
