For i2501 error, using mobile network to access mogstation sometimes can fix the issue.Just wanted to post in here and mention that I couldn't even use my mastercard or paypal to buy crysta just now and got the Error Code: i2501. I made a support ticket and called NA support and while they were friendly they were not helpful. I tried using firefox and chrome to buy crysta via paypal or my mastercard and neither go through. My sub was gonna run in 4 days so I bought a game time card for the first time just to at least give myself that cushion but I forgot I have extra retainers so I might lose access to them until they sort out whatever is going on. Pretty bummed but hoping they implement a solution or something soon :c


Also clear out any cache/cookies you may have saved in any temp folders. I'm playing in the European server but cannot use my Mastercard.
Did they ever talk about this, or are the NA players getting all the spotlight for this issue?
Someone mentioned there was a post on the EU Lodestone about the French Visa debit card also scheduled to get fixed in July. I have no idea if the impact to other EU residents was mentioned in additional posts.
Until now, I haven't seen anyone mention issues with Mastercard. That could have a different underlying issue though if it's also debit card, it might be fixed when they do the system changes for the Visa debit issue..
As others have been mentioning, for now try:
1) Removing your payment information from Mogstation
2) clearing your browser cache and cookies.
3) restarting your browser
4) adding your payment information back to Mogstation.



With the issues on the rise before Dawntrail coming-- players in the SEA areas (along with other countries) are having problems with payment instruments). CDAWG in Japan, and even Zepla and Arthars. A lot of countries cannot use paypal or crysta either. Between Square-enix store, mogstation, playonline, and square-enix payment sites-- how is it that nobody has been fired yet for any of these terribly put together changes? And RIGHT before Dawntrail releases?? Even Hironobu Sakaguchi had so many issues MAKING and USING the mogstation account. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN STILL? Either Squeenix is hiring interns to make these sites up (instead of combining them all into one system), or they're hiring the dumbest folks from different companies that were fired for the same issues. Neither WOW, nor Guild Wars 2 have these issues.
Why would you need a billing address if you're using a prepaid time card (60 days)?
Why is paypal and crysta (other than CC) a requirement?
Why were Debit cards pulled??
Why is it so difficult for square-enix to accept money? <_<

Needs to be fixed two weeks ago, not July.

And NO we can't buy crysta, because its the same cash processing issues.
and amazon pay just gives an error code.

Well that's at least something of a good sign. However... not really a fan of having to use yet another company and another account to track just to pay for a game that I have been able to with ease the last 10 years. It's bad enough that we have some now unknown third party handling our payment info and botching it in spectacular fashion, but the only work around adding a fourth party to this mess, and that it's paypal is not a comfort. My hopes are I can at least get amazon pay to work tomorrow after their stupid error code lockout lifts. But 10 years of working, to them being so flippantly lazy as to think JULY is a good time to get this fixed...
Would really love them to be a lot more forthcoming about who and why to all of this mess, that we have to figure out work arounds to pay them.
It very likely not SE who is 'waiting' until July to have this fixed. I am POSTIVIVE they would LOVE to have this fixed before DT. It's very likely Visa that is causing the delay, as usual. (wouldn't be the first time, Visa is a horrible company).
