I don't know if it's people using skips or not but I have noticed a recent trend toward really poor parties in expert roulette. Really obvious things that should be known at level 90.
I run that roulette as healer most of the time and this is what I've noticed:
-Tanks running around spinning mobs so melee DPS can't get a positional.
-Tanks not understanding mitigations and bleeding out rapidly.
-DPS single targeting on large pulls.
In some ways I don't mind because it makes me a stronger healer dealing with parties like that.
But I also think it's kind of rude for players to queue into expert roulette and slow the run down significantly because it shows a lack of respect for other people's time. I'm not saying everyone should play the perfect run but DPS should be using AOE on 3 or more targets and tanks should be mitigating and holding mobs still at level 90. It's kind of expected.
I don't know the solution. It's hard to correct players at level 90 so I never even try. Too many people just get upset so I just stay quiet and deal with the slow run but wow these sorts of runs are getting to be more common than not. When I get a run where the whole party knows their jobs and plays well, I'm genuinely surprised these days.

Forgot I had even made this post but alas - any feedback and thoughts are appreciated.
Some agree, some disagree and some do not see this happening - varied experiences.
I mostly do 90ies due to limited time and/or other things to do, but this extends to EW raids too, mind you this is all endgame stuff.
One can only go so far to dealing with people who do not know what a basic stack marker or an AOE marker is, and that alone can be frustrating, cause dissatisfaction and just make you miserable rest of the duty.
I come on to play and have fun, and I do value my time of the free limited hours I have.
By no means am I good in any way, I only started a year or more ago so what do I know and we all make mistakes regardless of knowledge or situation - but seeing a sprout next to their name, rare cases can be excluded for those who do not have enough playtime hours to have it removed and have progressed in quick pace, and a singular class via Search Info at 90 in the latest dungeon(s) & raid(s) is a dead giveaway and 5+ minutes into the first boss you can tell they don't know what to do.
I have no problems with new players who are genuinely new to the dungeon or new mechanics - these things are expected, what is not expected is failing to understand the most basic stack, AOE and etc markers.
There is a big difference between a "new" player and a booker - one has been learning and is learning duration of the game, while the other decided to book their way to 80+ and attempt, without any prior experience, doing latest dungeons and endgame raids while being utterly clueless. You could argue that both are new regardless, yes, but I value and appreciate one more over the other because one has done their part of learning the game mechanics overtime.
That being said, everyone will have different experiences - depending on the region, time of day, type of duty and different levels of skills and knowledge.
tl;dr: booking is bad, better tutorials/guides needed and requirements beforehand buying books needed (don't care if people skip MSQ, it's more of a "please learn basic stuff before going into latest dungeons" rant)

Not gonna argue with your perspective, I just want to raise a thought I had.Forgot I had even made this post but alas - any feedback and thoughts are appreciated.

Does this irritation also happen during patch/expansion launches when people (who aren't new) stumble on new dungeon mechanics, alliance raid mechanics, savage mechanics, etc.?
I'm going to assume you weren't here when Sage and Reaper launched (correct me if I'm wrong) but what about when people pick up Viper & Pictomancer in 7.0 and die to mechanics while trying to learn their skills/rotation?
Is it strictly with book people or is it just people not performing to a standard you have set because of your limited time to play the game?

As someone running Stormblood Duty Support currently on an alt, the "tank" (and I use that loosely since Square seems to think Samurai is a tank) does face the boss away. At least he did in Abania for me but maybe I got lucky. To be fair, skips or no, the game doesn't really teach you those things directly. Boss placement as a tank isn't really a thing while leveling and trust/duty support NPCs do single target the trash pulls.
When I first started as a tank, I was also spinning bosses trying to avoid ground AoE, despite already having a 90 melee, I just didn't think of the connection... Until someone pointed it out and I (hope) I never made that mistake again

The tanks do all the tanky stuff you expect in Duty Support with positioning and AoEing for aggro and such. Thancred will even Superbolide.
As someone who has a few alts, I'm not interested in doing the ARR nightmare over and over again.
how can you tell if someone used a book? you get free tome gear from the quest line now days..
Your problem is you are putting an arbitrary assumed prejudice against a grp of people to justify your own dislike of players who do not play to your standards..
