I have nothing personal against her, I truly believe she feels stuck in this game due to her friends/house and I hope she'll be able to break away from it some day, as you're correct, she's very consistent with her hatred of the game.
So that's why you don't block them? If you bring up how hateful and pathetic they are for making snide and somewhat crude jokes about what is, from your words, a sad situation, that will encourage them to possibly unsubscribe? It's a good samaritan perspective?
Have you ever tried blocking someone? Their posts still show up and all it takes is a click to see and respond to what they've said. I have you blocked for whatever reason and here we are.
I don't think cafe macchiato should be playing this game and is doing a really good job of illustrating why the game needs anti-cheat. Those types of players are better off having their enjoyment of the game cut off, it is a bad look to have them around. Others talk about how they only enjoy hating on the game with their friends in game. There's a lot of people who don't enjoy the game and speak very poorly of it that are only staying around because of mods.
Long story short here guys this is the NA forums, nothing we say here matters anyway... this is more like a chat room than a forum. That said it is funny having the cheat apologists come out of the woodwork trying to justify it in their own sad ways.
If the only real counter argument that people can come up with is "they would have people unsub because so many people are cheating" as if somehow getting rid of the cheaters would ruin people's fun. Then really that just shows the community why anti cheat needs to be put in the game more than anything. Plus no one here knows SEs bottom line when it comes to revenue or their outlook for the next years blah blah so saying they wouldn't be willing to do it just because money is taking a giant leap of faith. It is much more likely they are just lazy, it is SE after all.
Also I haven't been here for a few days so I will respond to the bots that didn't like me bringing up the Berne Convention, japanese IP law doesn't exist outside of japan if it differs from the BC. Which is the whole point of me making this thread. SE can now legally sue IP infringers (also includes cheat makers) in the US, meaning if Goatcorp/Goaaats are based in the US (or if they wanted to go after Github for housing the content) they would be able to do so, legally. All they would have to do for the GH thing is issue a S&D tho so it wouldn't be anything major and yes GH is based in SF so they could be on the hook.
"But they aren't selling anything!" Yep, and it doesn't matter as the link I put in this thread a long while ago goes into that, bungie didn't need to prove they (aimjunkies) sold a dang thing, just that it violates their IP.
I'm done trying to reason people out of positions they clearly didn't reason themselves into. Would be more productive to just talk to a wall.

According to several friends, it's non-existent to very small over there in terms of cosmetic mods. Add-ons are common every day use for raiding/gameplay though as you said. 14 is pretty unique in how deep the modding customization can get in terms of MMO imo.I absolutely would not give WoW as an example in this argument. If anything WoW is worse when it comes to third party tool usage. I'm not familiar with the fashion side of WoW modding, but raiding uses multiple programs to assist in their raiding scenes. Weak auras and tools akin to Cactbot are widely used and modern fights are designed around these player tools. Not to mention custom UI tools, rotation assist tools, and their own suite of parsing tools.
I think, if this is factual, that this is the larger concern than whether or not mods/add-ons exist.
Why would people only want to play the game because of mods and not the game itself?
That says a lot about the quality of the game on its own, which I think should worry Square. Take out mods and all of the people that you're referring to would probably stop playing but would enough new people come in, in a quick time frame, to replace them? I'm not entirely sure.

You're....not wrong. There is likely nothing positive that can come from engaging with Cafe's posts and it's most definitely not a good samaritan perspective.
