This one is so funny to me because many/most cosmetic mod users are also among those who care the most about what their character looks like to non-mod users, and as a result are among the most glam hunty, most mogstore spendy players out there.

Doubly so when you consider how some cosmetic mods use store-only items as a base, and unless you know how to manipulate the files yourself to attach the mod to other gear pieces, you'll have to give money *to Square*, not the modder, to use said mod.

That said, I have no aversion to cosmetic mods, they're harmless enough and I can't tell who is using them anyway. Actual cheats are a problem though, I've seen enough from the time I've played PVP alone to know they can be an issue to the point that I've kinda stopped taking PVP seriously and no longer care to improve at it. The conundrum here is that while I wouldn't mind measures being taken to give me back my fun by eliminating hackers in PVP, I don't really like the idea of it being done at the expense of *other* people's fun with regards to their tools that do everything from benign hat-usage for the most deprived races, to animations that are most certainly depraved. It's collateral damage I don't want to accept for my benefit.

For the most part it benefits the community as a whole, and cracking down would be a massive waste of dev time, but more importantly, SQEX can't risk doing this. Anything major might lead to mass chargebacks and they're already on super thin ice with mastercard, visa, etc, and with sqex corporate taking massive losses, they cannot afford to rock the boat on their cash cow.

Didn't you unsub in December because you were so fed up about "cheaters" in this game? Came crawling back because you realized it's not as big of a deal as you thought, huh.

When did I say it wasn't a big deal? Every post I've made in this thread has been against cheating. I "came crawling back" because the expansion is about to launch and MSQ is a huge reason I play this game.

@ForteNightshade, people would just adapt and learn to play the game for once if cheating was banned. The idle threat of "I'll quit if you add anti-cheat!! it needs kernel accesss this is so bad!!!" is just something people say because they are comfortable with leaning on cheats and don't want to be exposed for being mediocre.

Maybe I am going on incorrect information, but someone mentioned that the devs are significantly retuning past ultimate raids and making it impossible to skip major mechanics. I don't know where this was said because I heard it from another player. They don't have to rescale potency though, they just have to change hp values on the bosses. Which makes sense for them to do, because they don't want the timeless encounters to be made trivial. It's bad enough as is, even though they are still a challenge above the level of savage they are being called extremes. People don't take UWU as seriously anymore and the older ultimates are losing their prestige in the community. Seems obvious that they would change it going forward to preserve the experience.

Modders aren't a majority and fewer still would do chargebacks if their mods got banned.

They're not going to do this because people wouldn't like this game if they couldn't use cosmetic mods, or even mods that make the game more accessible for disabilities.
