Bazaars are for transactions, not -bleep- storage!

I'm really tired of checking people and finding a pile of items being listed for 999,999,999 gil.

The bazaar really needs to not free space from your inventory, so people dont use it as storage when that's not what it's there for. INSTEAD, *gear* is what shouldn't be taking up space in your inventory. You're wearing it!

I'm sorry, but it's really frustrating. counting both retainers and ignoring crystals you can hold 500 items. If you aren't using it and you aren't selling it, put it on a retainer or something, don't waste the time of people who think you might have something to sell.

I propose that everyone be given 10 more inventory space instead of the bazaar being it's own inventory space. This way you all get more storage and bazaars might actually return to their intended purpose. I would like to reiterate that this is a suggestion, not a QQ. this situation left me scratching my head because the bazaar was created to let people sell stuff out of their inventory, and people don't really actually do that. This simply doesn't make a whole lot of sense and should be adjusted.

It's easy enough to say that if your highest class is a 50 THM followed by 27 ARC and 24 goldsmith. If you were to lv multiple gathers and crafts you would understand why people make use out of every bit of inventory they can even if it's through using the Bazaar. Personally I do it since I'm holding onto a wide variety of items that I can turn in for seals but I have to wait a week or 2 before I can finally clear out my inventory. If I were to remove items from my bazaar I would be at -25 inventory space but it also doesn't help with how materia stacks while I am still saving space with the change I still have things like blood thirst III on 3 inventory slots just because of their different variables.

If it was easier to manage materia then it would offload the stress materia has on my inventory atm and perhaps I wouldn't use the bazaars for additional space but at times if you do have multiple crafts and gathers at a high lv you might need to use the extra space til you can use up materials or manage your inventory. Also sometimes people just like to have an item up their to show their prized possession is, people did the same thing in XI though I can understand you might be frustrated since it does take a bit to load if you are doing it from the player bazaar so why not just rely on the Market Ward rather then playing roulette with player bazaars lol.

Thanks for looking at my jobs and being judgmental, but I have my fair share of crap too. But I don't use my bazaar as storage. I use it to sell things or get things repaired, like should be done with it.

This game doesn't have gear swapping like XI, so you shouldn't have a million items for each class you can play.

Also sometimes people just like to have an item up their to show their prized possession is, people did the same thing in XI

And it annoyed me just as much in that game. I really don't give a #&$%#^& about the heart chocolate your in-game lover gave to you. Stick it in your mog house or somewhere else. Nobody else cares. Some people said they used it so they didn't accidentally drop something, but if you don't want to do that, then store it in your satchel/safe/storage/locker.

The level of time wasting is even worse in this game because of how slow the interface can be.

well i guess now bazaar not only serves as a way to trade, alternative storage, it can also be used as a tool to troll people like you. what a multi-functional tool SE gave us. trolololol

I put a single item up for max price so my retainer will never go down even if someone buys me out just to make my retainer go away.

Good thing the next patch will fix that.

That's a legitimate problem, and it's getting fixed. I'm only talking about player bazaars, not retainer bazaars. And lol @ at all the morons who have nothing better to do than post internet meme pics and troll comments.

Why are you so up-in-arms about a feature that is not nearly as useful as it was in ffxi? Bazaaring was nice because it let you sell items without paying an AH tax, gave you extra slots on what was a very limited selling capacity (7 AH slots), and let show the exact price of the item instead of a bidding system.

Now, tell me how that bazaar system is better than using the Ward system. The Ward system has a fair amount of selling slots, barely any taxing, and you see the real price of the items and it doesn't use blind bidding.

Then you have to think about how the bazaar system is limited by the server capabilities. We can only have 40 characters displayed on our screen at a time and most people afk in ul'dah if they leave their game during their off hours. Actually believing your items will sell while bazaaring them is borderline insanity. So again, please tell me how this system is even worth having as a means to distribute items and stimulate the economy.

Because this kind of abuse of the system is PART OF THE REASON why it's not useful. Everyone's using it for storage, thus the odds of seeing a bazaar icon and someone actually having something to sell is very low. That's not how it should be.

It's not. but you can possibly sell more stuff by using your character bazaar (which is what it exists for) than by using your retainers alone. Plus, it can be handy to hang out in a popular destination (e.g. entrance to a raid, etc) selling things people might need, like food/potions/ammo/etc - places you can't put a retainer.
