We really should be able to glamour other jobs' sets

To be clear, are you saying that if the devs remove glam restrictions they would add more class specific gear sets instead? Why would they do that?



The idea of more options = more homogeneity might make sense if we're going from total class restrictions to none. You could argue that everyone will just wear bikinis or joke glams, and identity would go out the window. The issue is that we have role restrictions, not job restrictions - this means that jobs that don't fit a traditional role aesthetic don't have as many options. For example SCH/RDM wouldn't normally wear robes, but since healer and caster sets are 90% robes, that's what they need to wear. Without restrictions I'd be free to pick a medley of scouting/aiming/healing pieces to truly look like a SCH without resorting to artifact gear.

The current system is simply the worst of both worlds. Joke glams and casual streetwear have zero restrictions so anyone can be a bikini-clad chocobo now. But role restrictions means that many folk who want to assemble lore accurate glamour cannot, because their job identity clashes with the role identity.

DNC is also in a weird spot where it's very clear that the gear was NOT made with male characters in mind at all. Most of it looks hilariously bad. Just let me use the Edenmorn Bolero of Scouting, please.

You mean like they already have with Ysayle and ShB Alphinaud's outfits (undyeable variants of existing gear)? That aside though, the Korean version's online store does actually sell All Classes replicas of level 70/80 DoH/L AF gear which is... scummy as hell, but it's there
