I went searching for opinions last night but the only thing I could find was the Seraphism hate. (In two threads!) It’s difficult to search threads over there, they organize things rather differently than we do.

The very fact you found 2 seperate seraphism hate threads speaks a lot considering JP organises threads into megathreads and very very rarely has people make new threads that basically amount to “I know this thread already exists but I want to make a new thread to bring it back to the top”
JP hatred of seraphism may even eclipse our own
I think it does, for sure. I was also surprised to see two threads with the same people posting to rehash their distaste of the transformation. It seems like they dislike it for slightly different reasons—most seem to just not like having their character’s appearance change suddenly, whereas here it seems more like people dislike how it doesn’t mesh with the job’s identity. I don’t play SCH but I’m in the latter camp as a WHM player because it feels like it would suit us better (and I’ve never cared for the wings on WHM).The very fact you found 2 seperate seraphism hate threads speaks a lot considering JP organises threads into megathreads and very very rarely has people make new threads that basically amount to “I know this thread already exists but I want to make a new thread to bring it back to the top”

Neither side does it right. Megathreads are terrible forum practice because they force people to sift through pages of unrelated things to find the topic they're looking for. The EN forums have the opposite problem of creating multiple threads for single topics and then having the discussion about that single topic spread among multiple threads.
Good forum practice, which neither side will ever get to, is 1 thread ≡ 1 topic. This makes it easier to find relevant topics and prevents people from having to skim past irrelevant other topics in the same thread.
But then this requires many, many moderators to cross-check and fork and close duplicate threads, and moderators have to be paid, so this method is also wrong (from Square's perspective).Neither side does it right. he/him
If I recall, airing one's complaints or grievances is frowned upon in Japan, so you would need to go to one of their anonymous forums such as a Chan to find any kind of (truly) negative opinions about the game.
Also, opposite of the West, JP players believe in complete self-sufficiency, not having to rely on other players, which is why the trinity system is such a trainwreck and content/gameplay is so braindead.

Gonna need a citation for that last part there bud, cuz that sounds like western players to me lol.
Eh, I'm not even gonna bother looking through +4 years of content and threads. Someone posted either here or on reddit the JP community's thoughts on the state of healers and was told healers should only heal, then asked about tanks (and dps's) broken self/party sustain and was told it was a great thing cause they wouldn't have to "feel like a burden". It was around all the drama when tanks were clearing savage fights without healers and clearing ultimates with 0-1 healer.
Pretty sure West wants nerfs to self-sustain. We weren't asking for tank/dps mitigation buffs and second wind buffs that was shown in the Live Letter.

Wow I mean I am definitely a "dps as windows allow and don't ignore your main role" mentality but what do they think they should do in parties if they think healers should only heal but also think tanks and dps should be able to exist without them?Eh, I'm not even gonna bother looking through +4 years of content and threads. I can't speak Japanese myself and got this from a friend, so take it with a huge bag of salt but I've been told that while my social circles love to complain about garbage tanks not pressing their mitigation buttons, apparently the big topic in JP is healers not healing, so they want tanks to be able to keep themselves alive? Again, can't verify it.Eh, I'm not even gonna bother looking through +4 years of content and threads.
