…..SCH’s chain follow up will be in the same button. Can’t have button bloat……This is a direct criticism to WHM and SCH’s new abilities.
SE, Please, PLEASE, do not lock their new DPS abilities behind other spells / skills. I’m glad both jobs are getting new DPS spells, but with the way they are now in DT, it feels stupid that you cannot use them after a long period of time
Seriously, that new AoE ability for WHM should have been a GCD ability on a 15 or 20 sec cooldown.
Kind of ironic now that SE going for the 1111111 button. Yet, it’s a good thing cause more combos can be added. More follow ups can be added.
TBH I wasn't sure, but I made an educated guess of 'its a WHM action, it's gonna be a GCD'. But even if POM is somehow 60s CD (doubtful), that still would result in 30 out of 48 GCDs (not considering POM speed buff) being Glare, so still well over half
I just want the 'lorewise foil to BLM' be similar to BLM in terms of it's CPM breakdown, with Glare being like 30-35% maximum of our casts per min (as is the case with F4). At least, before factoring in POM speed. Which is why I got my fanmade design down to 20/48, it's still a bit higher than 30% but it is what it is.
I should rewrite those old ideas into a proper 'level up guide' style post for each healer, once we get the full tooltips from Media Tour (to dispel the comically desperate retort of 'stop complaining you don't even know how it'll play yet')

better hope that new chain stratagem follow up isn't only usable while your chain is on the boss. It's bad enough watching Sch wrestle for chain priority in 24 mans and getting them overwritten 4 seconds in without it being tied to access to almost half of your DPS kit.
I don’t have a say in SCH since I haven’t played it in a long time. As for WHM, it doesn’t have a button bloat issue, but if SE wants to resolve the problem in DT and future expansions, then they can do the following:
1) Have Cure I upgrade to Cure II
2) Have Medica upgrade to Either Medica II or Cure III
3) Have Divine Benison upgrade to Aquaveil.
There. Button bloat issue resolved, for now at least. SE can start adding stuff again.
Or maybe bring back Shadowflare as a gcd spell.
If SE upgrade low mp cost regen media 2 to high cost, big heal cure 3, ppl will complain about that. If SE upgrade 2x Divine B. to 1 Aquaveil, ppl will complain about that. If it makes the trash pack die faster, then it's worth it. Just because something's on a cooldown does not mean its best use is on a boss. Lots of cooldowns are more effective on trash.

Still chains best use is always on a boss, locking a gain on trash ability behind a long CD that is always best used on a boss is terrible design
If the DOT’s a gain on trash then chain basically becomes a completely wasted first button press to get a useful button, if it’s not worth wasting chain to get the DOT then nothing has changed
Either way the design decision is terrible
