Good to know they are doing this only on ARR fates that are needed for 13 out 17 weapons.

Even in ARR, not all boss FATEs can be one shot. Some can, yes. And most FATEs aren't boss FATEs to begin with. So you're dealing with a minority of blue mages who might do that, in the chance that it was a boss FATE that can be one shot, out of all the FATEs in all the zones in the ARR regions, and calling all blue mages griefers because of it.

Each medal can be earned in multiple zones, each zone has multiple FATEs, the FATEs respawn at a decently quick rate. Just stop the hyperbole. This entire thread is filled with hyperbolic statements or outright lies.

It doesn't really matter if they are a minority even 1 Blue mage OS a fate before you barely had time to attack is annoying. There is absolutly no excuse for this behavior and yours who defend it. We don't care about its only 2 minutes. Its a few Blue. We want you to stop ruining other people event just for a slightly faster kill. "I act like a jerk but here's why I'm not a bad person" give us a break.

I have a question. If people intentionally choose extremely inefficient jobs like tanks or healers to grind fates, is it also "griefing" to mow the mobs down as DPS? Should everyone take it slow for their sake?

No, because no dps outside of a Blue Mage can end a FATE that fast.

People should be able to play whatever they want. The issue with that statement is that it doesn't take into account people going into business for themselves. I don't care if a Blue Mage is doing FATEs with me. No big deal, but when that Blue Mage is deleting the FATEs, you have a class balance issue. That unfortunately, people will abuse. The old saying "exploit early exploit often."

Again, to make it perfectly clear.

People are mad at the selfish griefing people.

Not Blue Mages in general. I shouldn't have to play that job to keep up. And if I do, that's bad game design. Intended or not, this comes up every time for a reason. I've seen normie memes about it for a reason. But SquareEnix won't do anything about it because one, they have bigger fish to fry, and two, it would make Blue Mage more of a target than it already is for harassment. I don't think it's right to attack the job. To be fair, I don't think it's right to attack the player either, but if you're being a selfish child hogging all the blocks, I'm going to call you out for it. Strawman or not.
