There are people who don't use boost that play just as bad as people who use boost. Boost don't have an effect it's player willingness and drive of whether they want to improve or not or read descriptions of there abilities.

That is when the true Vana'diel of legend will be reborn.
Have never gotten a boost, am terrible, blame me, not the people using boosts.
From my view, nothing has been more detrimental to this game than the homogenization and simplification of the game as a whole. This encompasses a lot such as job/encounter design, 2 minute meta, allowance of inflated ilv in normal duties PLUS echo if they somehow still fail, tank role self-sustain (especially WAR), and yes, the skips as well.
It took me a little while to notice what gatekeepers were warning gamers about: The epidemic of laziness and instant gratification seekers who don't want to work for Jack s**t. It's not just in FFXIV, it has infected everything. XIV is just one of many games who have the virus nourished by an obedient gaming software company.
I see it when I look at content creators on YouTube and think, "Are these soyboys and the girls that walk all over them representing the entire playerbase? Like, all of us?"
I'm ashamed I wasn't privy to it sooner, but this expansion really opened my eyes to this BS that is prevalent among the entire gaming industry. Skips shouldn't even be a thing. Why TF should any player have to put in less effort than those who came before them? Convenient that they have been priced so high to take advantage of those with low motivation under a false pretense of convenience. And the dev team has the gall to question the lack of appreciation towards their efforts and go off on a tangent about mods, exploitation, and game hacks.
Sorry, this has become more of a rant but I needed to get that off my chest. I'm an old school gamer who grew up during the golden age of video games. Perhaps I'm just a dinosaur.
Could you describe what a "soyboy" is please? And give some example Youtubers who are "soyboys"? Just so we're all on the same page.
I also find charging for skips questionable, though it's likely for different reasons. When it comes to effort, I don't see any reason to care about what another player has done relative to me. I just want games to be fun and also acknowledge that different players consider different things fun. Trying to force everyone into playing the same way is a good way to take out the fun because then people are slogging through things that they don't want to do and if they must do those things they will probably complain and ask for the thing to be simplified and streamlined. I'd rather have games that are deep or challenging or whatever they're trying to be and only letting the people that want to deal with a given aspect engage in the relevant parts of the game. If players uninterested in the MSQ could skip it they wouldn't spend any energy trying to dumb it down.
A bit off topic but In my opinion if they fixed ARR by taking out more of the needless quests people wouldnt feel so unhappy about doin msq. Its really not that long and goes by fairly quick after ARR. Just ARR continues to be the most offputtinf thing about it still even after they took out the twenty quests as there is still many quests that are “go pick up this off the ground” “go talk to this guy three meters away” “go kill this animal right outside the camp (quarrymill. How do these people live out here yet cant kill an antelope?) “go talk to this guy about nonsence couple areas over then come back”
I feel like they wouldnt boost and learn as they go along instead of getting the insta msq skip and a job they have no clue how to play or they just dont like story which nothing will change as they are hardset on not reading so just wanting to do big boss fights. It has pros and cons but to SE its money so doesnt matter to them what they do after they purchase it.

You shouldn't be allowed to purchase a job skip until you have Lv50 in that role. I often get skippers who are completely incapable of playing their role in dutyfinder with any level of competence. Skippers are also the ones who invariably have major attitude problems, such as screaming at people for "stealing aggro" and having usual the "sit down until you kick me" tantrum when called out on their obvious inexperience.
Unapologetic Lalafell headpatter.
Honestly you should have to cap a job on the same role across at least one of your service account before you can buy a skipYou shouldn't be allowed to purchase a job skip until you have Lv50 in that role. I use them all the time for my alts especially story skips.
No way I'm running though that again (and I've done it a few times) to get to the latest xpac. I have a few who are 90 but haven't finished story. For example my male Hroth is in Greatwood and I've honestly just not had the motivation to push him though to be ready for Dawntrail. He will be getting a sex change and I'll probably get him the story skip it's just not worth it to me to push that story again.
I was honestly hoping for skips at least for story for each character as a freebie but guess I'll have to pony up and buy them.
For a new player though brought to the game with the hype of Dawntrail which is supposed to signify a new beginning I don't envy them having to push story all the way from ARR to get there. Personally I think the option for a story skip with a forced having to watch a backstory vid of the ARR to Endwalker main story points would be sufficient. Job skips meh it's so easy to level people today that I don't see that as needed. They could offer something like a new world buff for those who are new to the game as well. I've been sitting on them on Dynamis and Materia and they've helped with the leveling when I was doing it.

I am genuinely confused how you are somehow managing to connect effeminate males on YouTube with an increase in the design favouring lack of engagement especially since some of the people you’ve mentioned have stood in direct opposition to a lot of the changes that lead to this design decision
Isn’t this a (rather rude) pointless point to be making
