Yo-Kai Event: BLU Major Griefing Problem

I can't get groups. Nobody joins them. Nobody makes them. The FATEs evaporate. So naturally, you speak up. They ignore you.

But griefing requires malicious intent? Well, they did start going faster when I asked them to slow down. That's not quite malicious, but it is with intent.

Their intent is to finish the event. What you ask or say has no bearing on that especially considering some of them may not even see what you're typing or listing in the party finder depending on their chat and blacklist settings (and the extent of your own blacklist might prevent you from seeing their replies or parties too). Refusing to invite or listen to someone isn't griefing.

Probably in the minority here but this event has been suffering trying to farm atma and zodiak books. I sure picked a bad time for this haha.

Lol I was just thinking the same thing. I can't be bothered to camp the fates so I'm doing other relics and farms for a couple of weeks. Still plenty of time until the expansion.

Been a few days now with the event. I had 2 BLUs that ignored that there are other players, but most of them wherent an issue.
The big issue is the Players that go berzerk in this FATEs and kill everything as fast as possible and finishing the FATEs as fast as possible, letting other players no chance to get silver- or goldrating. More than once i saw Sprouds trying to reach a FATE and couldnt make it because they where missing the maxspeed-upgrade. You could point that out, openly wait a little bit or start smalltalking the first seconds. No F.. given, most of the time there are 2-3 players burn down the FATE as fast as possible.
BLU is a critcal to see class in this kind of events but at the moment its less an class-issue.

People still cry in HW chat zones when blu groups nuke every bosses in 1 flute opener.
Making things not Missile-able/Ultravibratable changes nothing, it just makes blus go into full max raid dps burst, if a group of people want to go fast they will find a way to go fast, everyone else needs to keep up or cry I suppose.
As for the "Won't Somebody Please Think of the Children?" all the sprouts we had in our parties thought it was cool the zones were extremely active and hectic and alive. They were also getting into every tag no problem.
I honestly can't wait to witness apocalyptical whining when the expansion comes out and hunts become the center of attention, "Please wait I'm congested! griefers!!!! obstructing my gameplay!!!!!"

That's a slippery slope.

I'm only relaying what I've heard and witnessed from many sprouts. It's cool to hear that some of them get into parties that manage to take care of them, but the fact remains that a fate gets insta cleared and groups can't afford to dally or wait for their sprouts to tag something half of the time which often results in missed rewards. On top of it, sprouts by definition aren't exactly all knowledgeable and intricately aware of the game's social tools, don't necessarily know how to immediately go for or even find groups. When that's the thing they see when trying to do their little event quietly, they get confused, and then grow frustrated if nobody has any real answer to provide, or especially any party to provide as an alternative. You can bet next time the subject comes up I'll tell them to try and find farming groups like I've already done so far, but they will continue to face the issue either way either by ignorance or by a need to be carried (they do not have the tools to compete with BLU groups).

No matter on which side of the fence you stand, it's a problem which is primarily the responsibility of the developer.

You do realize if the BLU players leave the field after consuming the fates, more fates will spawn right? And they'll be gone so they won't be messing things up for you anymore?

It often seems to come to situations where the pace of fate completion (insta kill) greatly outpaces the pace of fate respawn, unfortunately.

What about tanks who are deliberately pulling mobs out of Hydro Pull range, when the blu is trying to group them all, freeze them and then let everyone get their free shots in. Shouldn't that also be considered griefing?

Grouping them and freezing them is just prepping for a one shot, I would want to pull a couple away so I at least have a chance at credit too if I see people setting up the one shot.

I understand your point, I'm sure alot of the tanks were thinking the same. But that's my point, if a blu is griefing by using the tools at their disposal, then a tank is griefing if doing the same.

Still, a single blu will only realistically be able to one shot one group, maybe two, you could always wait and see what kind of mage you're with. A pull and freeze and seeing the mage stand still, is inviting you to land in as many shots as you want.

The difference in that being that the tank "griefing" is slightly slowing down farming while the BLU in that scenario is potentially just shutting everyone out of farming.
Going slow is better than just being denied any farm at all.

It's Final Fantasy XIV by Square Enix. You know, the same company that makes a dozen gachas a year then shuts them all down? The same company that tells you that not having content is a good thing because it "lets you play other games"? The same company that openly allowed FFXIV to become the world's most hackable, bottable, moddable, and exploitable MMO? It's like asking SEGA to stop making bad Sonic games. You know what to expect. It's been 20 years since Square Enix made a good Final Fantasy game and FFXIV was a brief reprieve akin to roping Jim Carrey into your failed franchise. They're not going to listen to people griping about an event that's almost a decade old. Get all the medals you want with the most amount of force possible, and if someone apes you, it's time to ape them back.

There's a word for it, but it's on the tip of my tongue. I know it starts with the letter O, and it has a destruction sound to it. Oh yeah, obstruction! But what was I doing? Oh yeah! Gameplay! A gameplay obstruction! And even better I asked nicely and they went faster. Crap there's another word for that it starts with g and ends in an rief sound. Oh yeah, griefing! I can perhaps see why ppl aren’t joining your groups. If you act like this on the forums I bet your ingame messages were as bad or worse. You act like a karen.

Eh, I've found it easier to just wait until multiple FATEs spawn and then go in the *opposite* direction of the Blue Wave, or even just go to the other listed zones per minion, because at this point I just don't want to deal with them *at all* anymore and even started adding the worst offenders to my blacklist knowing full well how it's going to work come Dawntrail. They already treat me like I'm invisible, so let's make it official.

Peope are blacklisting people for being a blu in the overorld now? Cringe. But I would be okay with it as these aren’t the type of people id want to talk to or hang with anyways.
