It's mind blowing that we're not allowed to change our country when not everyone lives in the USA and I play ff14

It's kinda weird that SE thinks that people who live outside USA and EU essentially don't exist and they keep making it harder and harder to continue subscribing. I always had alot of anxiety whenever the time for my sub comes and now I think I might not be able to anymore....I already preordered DT. I've never experienced a company that makes it actively harder for their customers to give them money.
I'm so tired. I love the game, I want to give them my money, but my options are limited. I'm so tired of this constant stress. I don't want to lose everything I worked for, especially my house and my FC...
If I knew this game would be so stressful when it came to payments, I honestly would've never started....Really awful.
Agreed, this is a huge problem for those who got stuck on Steam as well like myself. I tried out the trial on Steam when I was living in the USA, bought it on Steam NA, and now because I live in Taiwan and changed my Steam store to match, I can't even buy Dawntrail because for some reason the game does not exist on Steam in Taiwan storefront. Even though they have the free trial in the Taiwan storefront.
Only way I could buy DT was to switch the Steam store to NA using a VPN...and only way I can pay right now for my sub is because I still have it do automatic payments via a credit card I connected to the account when I lived in the USA. Once I have no more money in that account, it's likely going to be a huge headache to pay my sub.
Please for the love of Halone, allow us to switch the region of the game and unlock ourselves from Steam connection. Otherwise please put FFXIV onto the Taiwan Steam storefront, why is it not even available in most SEA regions!
I guess, those are legal reasons why it is not so easy to change the region/country. There many sanctioned countries. And it would be easy to circumvent the sanctions if you would simply change the region/country etc. Besides it, there also differences in terms of copyright etc.
Cheers
I haven't heard of region-related payment incidents on this scale affecting other MMOs or live service games, which makes me think that this is either a Japan- or Square-specific issue. As an anecdote I have an EU WoW account but have never had payment problems despite living in Canada and using a Canadian card. Same goes for ESO and GW2 as well.I guess, those are legal reasons why it is not so easy to change the region/country. There many sanctioned countries. On the other hand, paying for my NA FFXI account with a Canadian card was troublesome (though a different can of worms) and I'm now trying to figure out how to pay for FFXIV since the payment update.
