Apparently, by making this mockery, you just didn't care that the REAL problem that OP was facing is that FFXI does not offer time card, so his FFXI account was dead. That and, also, if I have same issue with my 2 games, I would rather find a method that fixes both games (FFXI and FFXIV) rather than using 2 separated methods.

Most importantly, we legacy players can pay for FFXIV subscription for 1 month at $9.99, but the time card is like, what?, $29.99 for 2 months? Plus, I was paying for 180 days for more discount, so it is $47.94 for 6 months (7.99 each). Naturally, people, including me, would prefer to save money when they have the rights to. I find it unfair and unkind of you to make that mockery to the OP when this is also the fact for this issue.

To Pawkeshup: I am struggling to find a payment method for my FFXIV as well, as now PlaySpan (UltimatePay) is no longer available, I cannot spend my PayPal money to buy Crysta anymore. I have no credit card but I think I might be able to get a virtual one from my bank. The real problem for me, however, is that I've been hogging a hell lot of dollars (foreign currency for me) in my PayPal solely for FFXIV payment. PayPal exchange rate is unfair in my opinion, as it gives less than what standard banks would give, if I exchange dollars to my currency, so I think I will have to keep my dollars in PayPal until I find a good way to transfer all that money back to my wallet.

Glad you found a way around the issue to at least solve your problem temporarily, though.

Also, yeah my country doesn't exist in SE account country option either. XD Tough luck. eh?

I had conserns about not being able to change the country registered to my SE account back when I firsted started playing 1.0 and had to make the SE account. I emailed and asked SE customer service which country I should register America or Japan and was told to register the country I live in. When I replied back saying I may move back to America in 3-4 years will I beable to change the registered country then I was told no. So I registered Japan anyway and luckly still live here so changing it hasn`t come up yet.

It is nice to see the OP worked things out and if I do go back to the States I won`t have to worry about payment as long as the IP address matches the country the credit card is issued in.

    @OP
Did they change something? I remember during the early FFXI days, only US addresses where accepted. My creditcard always got billed, although I never set a foot into the US.

I also VAGUELY remember, that addresses could be changed in FFXI ... because ... well because I changed my address. granted it was within the same country and same dristrict but street and landline changed :|
What? I just bought Crysta to pay for 6 months of the game not even two weeks ago.

    ---

It sucks that you can't change your country, but I think it's a short term problem that will resolve itself over time. Matters like this is always covered up in red tape by Legal/Finance teams, because the company has to accommodate for accounts that change it's status from country to country, potentially messing with the payment amount that's "agreed" upon. However, it doesn't mean that it's suddenly impossible to play, you'll just need to pay a little bit more (due to bad currency exchange rates) and purchase a country-neutral currency, such as Crysta. The PayPal solution is also on it's way, which is supposed to be the overall replacement for GlobalConnect/UltimatePay (UltimatePay got shut down).

Still it sucks. Best of luck OP.

Sorry but this is a silly response. Not every company has the same policies or legal teams (or even similar legal team procedures). You can't just blanket statement every company to be "easy." Even when you think it's easy, it's never really so.

Actually ZReport, it's a little sillier than you think. First, Apple does not allow you to change your account. You can change its country, but your purchases are not guaranteed to transfer. In my case, none did. That's right, all my purchases were gone. All my music, all my apps, free and otherwise, gone. And this is well known, to the point where people make two Apple IDs so that they can continue using their device once they move. I just decided to leave it as is, remove my payment method, and just never pay another dime to Apple.

Google also doesn't allow your adsense account to change... unless you are making X number of dollars per month. As a small-time YouTuber and blogger, I don't make anywhere near the amount needed, so my AdSense account is pretty much dead now.

XBox actually does allow it, and I've changed my tag over to be a US tag now, so that's accurate. PSN, on the other hand, doesn't allow the change either. The only recourse is to delete and remake your account, losing everything associated with it, or make a US account with a new user associated with it. Ironically, PayPal is the same way. You cannot transfer the account no matter what.

So, SE is not alone with this issue, but they are the first paid service provider I've used to block me so harshly.

Not every company does, you're right. But in the end, it all comes down to the effort put forth by the companies in dealing with these issues.

That's weird because as far as I know, the amount of money had nothing to do with restrictions and the only things restricting you on adsense would be if you'd move to/from certain eastern Asia country or to/from country outside your contracting entity.

If we could change region I'm sure everyone would jump ship to NA so fast for the chance to get the regional digital downloads.

    I know I would.

It's true, I regret changing to a European account hugely but I'm too invested to go back.

I'm glad you kind of solved your issue, and I completely agree the inability to change the details like the current country of residence on your account is really silly, but I have to say I'm still kind of puzzled at some of the people in here.
Like, I moved from Canada to the UK, and still use my legacy account (and sometimes even my FFXI account as well!) just fine, as I'm able to buy Crysta through Paypal. So the people who are saying that isn't a option is making me a bit confused. I can understand if for whatever reason you are unable to do so, but to say the option is *completely* gone is incorrect.
