I'm very happy to hear this and I am looking forward to the new benchmark version. I'm curious to see how many of the issues were caused by the errors mentioned in the post. With the lighting and other bugs fixed, the improved version should make it easier to give accurate and specific feedback.
The snark and sarcasm in some responses is misplaced in my opinion though because we do not know how many of these points were addressed because the feedback brought them to the devs' attention.
It doesn't sound like everything that has been brought up was just a relict of an outdated benchmark. Some of the things sounded like bugs, mistakes or (conscious) changes that are still in the actual game version.
Also, either way, releasing a benchmark that is so outdated and bugged 2 months before your actual title's release will of course cause dissatisfaction.
A benchmark is not the finished product but it is still supposed to give you an idea of what to expect.
From a player's perspective, it's possible they could have fixed certain things but you don't know if they did, and if so, what it is that they fixed.
So if you don't give feedback you also don't know if all of the problems or changes in the benchmark will be addressed by the time of the realse.
Especially in such a short time span. 2 months is a really tight schedule.
And as we have seen, while some things have already been fixed internally, some things have not yet been. So the feedback has had (and continues to have) its value.

Far more like -JP:
Person 1: I have a problem.
Person 2: I have another problem.
Person 3: I have the same problem a person 1.
EN:
Person 1: I have a problem.
Person 2: I don't have a problem.
Person 3: There is no problem.
Person 4: Even if there is a problem, you should stop complaining.
Person 5: Problem isn't worth addressing.
Person 6: I have another problem.
Person 7: No, you don't.
etc etc
EN:
Person 1: I have a problem.
Person 2: I have another problem
Person 3: I have a different problem
Person 4: I don't have a problem and, if it makes you feel any better, I quite like how your character looks now
Person 5: If you have a problem, try this: xxx
Person 1: Stop trying to help me, this doesn't work. You're dismissing my problems. I don't care what you think
Person 2: Don't feed the trolls, just ignore them
Person 5: What did I do?
Person 1: *Resort to insults*
This is heartening. I’ll continue sharing my concerns not addressed in the message. Afterall, it’s what he WANTS us to do, and has asked us to do everytime something new is implemented into the game. I’ve personally not seen anyone give feedback that isn’t constructive criticism, that would count as “doom and gloom”. We’re doing exactly what the devs want and we need to continue doing so. But we also need to temper our optimism. There’s no guarantee any changes will put things back to a state where we’re completely happy, and honestly that’s to be expected. I only wish I could contribute to the JP forum too, so I’d feel more confident about being heard (or could at least see if some of my unmentioned concerns are shared with that side of the playerbase).
ok so i'm not going to fight with a random freak on the final fantasy xiv official forums when i just came here to talk about mooncat fangs but i think you should probably log off and consider your words. they're vile, uneducated, misinformed and untrue. that blacklist improvement cannot come soon enough because i sincerely hope i never interact with you in game in any capacity.
I am going to be so upset if they end up delaying Dawntrail because of all of this. And don't mess with the female hrothgar. I made the perfect one with Face 4 and I don't want them to overly change anything.

I don't see how this can cause a delay. The date is already announced, unless they want a repeat of EW (fun fact, they don't). Needless to say, their last resort would be to release as is, and then add the updates later.
