Warrior of Light: /nodso you haven't noticed that we have three facial expressions and four animations in cutscenes? people around EW's release were memeing about how our WoL can only express anger by clenching their fist ad-nauseum.
How about yoshida saying in a live letter that the bespoke animation of Estinien in an optional cutscene cost them a ton of money to do? In what way is that even remotely sustainable for anyone?
What about the numerous face and body sculpt mods out there? The demand is there among the playerbase too for more than just "pretty lights" and "nicer textures", it's like 75% of the screenshots you see in most social media.
Happened to me before.
You have to add /s at the end to indicate it's sarcasm.
Otherwise people will take it seriously.
I've skipped the /s a couple of times since I thought it was so painfully obviously sarcastic.
Boy was I wrong on my expectation of peoples quality of sarcasm radars.
To be fair, the 2B leggings butt incident is very relevant to the current situation - it should have taught Square Enix to thread carefully when it comes to appearance changes. Yet here we are![]()
You can improve topology and remove the nasty low poly edges without redesigning or re-rigging the face
Gposers have created the most beautiful expressions with the current system that would have been a dream to have ingame
The current system was not deficient to the point that this needed to be done
New sculpts don't have to look different, though. My character's mouth looks mostly the same. Other's have entirely different lip shapes, and differently shaped lipstick too.
I can't say anything about why the colors are different.
But just like how each face have a different shape. Why else have multiple faces to choose from, right.
So if one face already have a base shape that works more with the update less had to be altered.
Where other faces might've not been so lucky with how they were originally shaped.
My theory at least.
This, this, this. I was happy to see all the changes they made to the environments. My character, however, looked absolutely atrocious. Everyone I showed side by side comparisons to thought that the EW version was the upgrade. They didn't need to change the way his lips / face shape / eye shape looked on the model itself. No amount of Fantasia is going to change an underlying issue, not to mention that they said they weren't going to make changes to the character models to preserve the uniqueness of each look. I'm hoping that they take all of our feedback as our desire to make this game better because we love it and our characters. They did an outstanding job on everything else. Just need to tweak and fix the models / translucency they messed up and miscalibrated.
yes it was. It looks like a 10 year old game.
