    You actually echo the same concerns as me, my girl is a face 4 with type 4 Nose....which literally got a nose job to straighten it up Q___Q
    Mouth 1 feels so strange.
    They really changed the cupid's bow shape from the original to a near v shape. Alot of chars got so much defined Philtrums which look kinda weird if they didn't have it so obvious before.
    I love how the current no lipstick lips are pink and blend so nicely with the skin. My baby lost that delicate look about her and is now abit more dolled up.

    I loved her little flaws, the not-straight nose, parted lips, nose smudge, cute cheeks... sigh



    Nose Type 4.
    = Nose smudge is greatly reduced/faded which is the defining feature of Face 4.
    = Nose job- thinning of the nose bridge (?) and straightening up of the nose profile. [I really liked that nose because it wasn't straight and I thought that 'flaw' was really cute and charming, sad to see it go...]




    Mouth Type 1.
    Honestly, I have so much issues with this I might cry
    = Cupid's Bow is totally a different shape between current vs benchmark, with the benchmark throwing subtly out of the window and giving a harsh 'v' shape.
    = Cupid's Bow catches light too often and leads to a glossy/doll look.
    = Philtrum went from being subtle to being more pronounced.
    = Mouth lost its original shape/charm- no longer has that soft/blended innocent look.
    = No lipstick option has a sheen/glossy finish and nowehere near light/pink as the original was.
    = Corners of the mouth catch way too much light which stick too much and adds to that doll look.
    = Please return my girl's fangs back, thanks.
    = Parted lips are gone which I found charming...

    Thank you for putting so much effort into organizing and presenting your concerns. It feels good to not be alone in my feelings. Honestly pretty shaken up about all this. Your notes on the nose are something I didn't cover so thank you for that. I noticed the narrower nose bridge and dorsum, but I didn’t compare the side profile to see that they changed that too. It explains why my button nose is gone. Why did they change so much! i would have been happy with higher rez textures and calling it a day! I’m a 3d modeller and digital artist so I’m familiar with this work. I could absolutely improve the smoothness of the mesh without straying from the original shapes and feel. I just don’t understand. I don’t want to look generic and doll like. I want to look like me.

    I'll make one of the nose in your example on how it can retain the same look, while still being improved

    I have sun and moon kitty with same face 4. All of face 4 have the same issue with lip gap and other features being removed. Really hope they fix face issues for both moon and sun a lot of issues over lap. The overall look is nice so far but seeing unique traits removed just feels off.

    I am personally moon 1 face, and they did the exact opposite on the nose straightness. It was near straight and now there's a bump, come fetch it?

    It's so strange seeing them exaggerate your nose that barely had a bump on it (very slight if you really look close)...and straighten mine which had an obvious shape...I don't think at this point this is "Man it's the polygon count that made it look that way".

    What!!? That’s so strange! Now I’m really confused! I assumed we all just lost detail when they increased polycount since that tends to happen if you don’t go in and manually recreate the shapes after, say, subdividing. But was that not the case?? I’m so lost now.

    Oh gosh. My condolences. Yours took a similar hit to mine. It’s even more noticeable on yours since you had a even more boyish look than I did. I really hope our characters can have their key details returned. I was thinking recently the benchmark version of mine looks like she’s my characters older sister now, and it’s a similar vibe for a lot of yours as well.
