    i dont think itll gain that ability since we already have nascent flash and i didnt really see any effects on WoL besides Viper LB aura,
    all i expect from it is to remove the "counter" damage and replace it with a shield since the effects look similar to nascent/whetting

    Well, it wouldn't be the first time that some of the flashier spells aren't shown in the Benchmark but, if I had to take a guess...
    - GNB's is very likely to be Continuation for Fated Circle.
    - PLD's cone AOE could be the AoE upgrade to Goring Blade, in the same way as Expiacion upgraded Spirits Within.
    - MCH skills looks like like a Chainsaw with cast time. Maybe it's a 120s GCD to fill in as the 6 button in Wildfire?
    - SGE seems like a Toxikon upgrade to me, sadly
    - WAR seems like an upgraded Vengeance, idk where people is taking the Cover part from.
    - SMN seems like Ramuh's gemshine spell

    Can't say much about the rest.

    Lily Medica II would be quite boring (predictable and understandable, but boring). Maybe it'll teach Medica II spammers to use the Lily system... maybe. Hopefully they're keeping the more insteresting stuff for the job action trailer.

    i can't stand when people say things like, "every benchmark trailer has showed off one new ability."
    i mean, yes, that's a pattern, but SE can willfully choose to stop that any time lol. it's a precedent, but not one they have to obey since they freaking created the precedent.

    also, i'm disheartened bc even from this trailer and what few maybe-maybe-not animations were shown off, it looks like combat will be relatively the same. which is the one thing that really needs to be revamped. being a healing main couldn't be more boring.

    I don’t think Sage’s is a Toxikon III. The sage is performing a completely different animation that we have not seen, and the spell effects look nothing like Toxikon or Toxikon II. It also looks too powerful to be a Toxikon spell.

    What’s interesting though is it has a lot more in common with Eukrasian Diagnosis. The Sage’s animation begins like how E. Diagnosis does, with them raising their hand up, and the spell effect also starts in a way that looks similar to how E. Diagnosis’ starts.

    I mean, the benchmark quite literally did show off a new animation for each job. Do you think it’s more likely that those animations were made only for the benchmark and aren’t actually going to be used?

    I actually like the understated VFX of Whispering Dawn (and other SCH abilities), and I wish more VFX were like that.

    Glitzy, flashy visuals play well in a video, but they're awful as a player trying to actually play the game. I shouldn't need to turn Party effects to "Limited" just so that I can actually see the trash and boss and their animations...

    Not to mention that flashy visuals carry less weight when they go with every other button press...

    The SMN not having a Carbuncle is even more concerning now that I think about it.

    Just look at SMN. Flashy, but boring and stupid.
