Certainly noticed the lack of fur patterns and it concerns me a little. I hope the Benchmark will come with stripes and dots and all that stuff because where is the point in playing a "big cats" species when the various fur patterns of all sorts of big cats are not existent? (Even lions have dots at a young age, no excuses there, devs! :P )
It is still early enough to say this might be still in development and therefore they don't show it but not sure how much this would be an actual accurate reason and how much this is me inhaling hopium.

There's a lack of fangs (sabretooth-like fangs) and whiskers, too.

I like to believe they wanted to make them look as bori- humanoid looking as possible for the presentation to get the most favorable reaction from the audience, and fur patches, fangs and whiskers, and probably the 4th face being more beastly will all appear in the benchmark.

I agree I think they will have more beast like options on release. I am hoping the benchmark is soon. I have a PC but play PS5 maybe they should add the CC benchmark as just that, like the dragons dogma one so players can get a feel for the new update and can have a play around in the CC.

HOW MUCH I hope so!! Please, Yoshi-P, grant us a revelation of new details and the benchmark. Please Please Please? ȌᴥȌ I can't sit still.
Maybe they will show us some of the new gearsets ingame? Or glam? I wonder if Tataru will sew a new outfit for us. The one that came with Shadowbringers is still amazing. I'm curious what kind of hints about FF9 await us ahead... And music. Maybe there will even be arrangements of those that players loved since 2000!

I am not really sure why folks are concerned about fangs, whiskers and fur patterns. The male Hrothgar reveal, the male models in the trailer and artwork didn't have fur patterns and didn't show off all the facial feature choices either.

This is the same thing. It's easier in a reveal trailer to have the base models shown without any of the customizations. I assure you they are all coming. If the hair can have highlights, so will the fur. I doubt they are going to give fewer features than the males do.

Are we talking about the same trailer here? The Hrothgar announcement trailer from Shadowbringers I found on the official channel absolutely showed fur patterns and fangs. (Though tbf I'm not entirely sure what is meant with whiskers, my Hrothgar doesn't have any, but maybe I just didn't see the option in the character generator.) Not the full range of fur patterns of course, but they had jaguar patterns.

I stand corrected. I am just saying they don't show off all the modifications in reveal trailers. People thinking we are only getting 1/3 of the normal customization options are overreacting.

Believe me, I dearly wish for you to be correct in your assumptions. ^^ I am just a bit cautious because when it comes to customization and Hrothgar SE's track record is... mixed. Nevertheless, I'll be very happy when it turns out my concerns are unwarranted.

I just need the hair to have highlight options like everyone else. I could deal without the fur, but my signature colors are rust red and peach highlights. So without that, I am not me. If that even makes sense.
