A giant death laser from red mage would be funny- though that seems more like a sage thing. I have yet to get red mage to 90. I look forward to seeing what that job looks like at the current max level

me too! Especially if it removes the gray filter that the game loads in. One time, I was in a namazu cutscene and I thought everything looked so colorful. Moments later a gray filter climbed up the screen! It was night and day

As for Brynne's feelings on the journey, she's disappointed about G'raha not joining them (she enjoys his presence and loves taking him on adventures) but she's glad that Krile will join them. She's super keen to explore the New World and find new adventures in Tural.
I was disappointed when I found out too- I'm with Brynne on this one. G'raha has to be my favorite character ^^
The story is absolutely a sticking point for me. I definitely look forward to it. I do wonder what older expansions will look like with the the graphics update

Plus lots of new glamour overall.

I'm less enthused about the graphics update than a lot of people are. A lot of the current high-detail gear dyes poorly, to the degree that I feel like it might as well be not dyeable at all, and I'm nervous that this issue will be spread to all the gear that currently looks fine. Hopefully it will go the opposite way and the poor-dyeing issues will get fixed, but until we actually see it I'll be wary.
Yeah the glasses and hat combo is something I was surprised to learn was impossible when I first joined ffxiv. I'm sure the updated gear will dye just fine- I can hope they test it out to see how it looks. You are right to be wary though- there is uncertainty. I haven't dyed much gear yet because unless I see glam potential in it my character will eventually outgrow it and it'll be desynthesis'd for sellable mats and armory chest space so I don't quite know what gear dyes well and what gear doesn't.

I have alts of every race/gender combination and I'm looking at them to see if their character arc is suitable to do Dawntrail. I'm thinking the male Viera who's at 4.0 and his basically a Sharlayan student who's helping Ejika in Eureka. Another contender is the male Midlander who is a happy go lucky gambler who may keen on going to Tural. The female Roegadyn is also a strong candidate because she's basically a seafaring adventurer.
I remember trying to get my dream team for the squadron. Alas, ran out of motivation because the rng hurts. Do you have your dream team?

OOh another blue mage! Do you have every blu spell yet? What content do you wanna do with the blu update?

The Roe is a very strong contender indeed- lots of open ocean to travel to until she reaches her destination. How well will she take being land-locked for a while?

-Oh another main city that will be forgotten in 2 months later because the whole America DC its stuck in QS.
-Oh the same dungeon design (mobs +boss+mobs+boss+mob+boss = oh a green item I dont need because the previous max item level from EW its enough to finish the expansion)
-Oh right, invisible walls everywhere and can't use the 2093423 mounts I own because " muh server limitation, muh spaghetti code that doesn't allow more than 20 players in your screen)
-Cool, I'm level 100 but now since there is no enough content until the next two years I'm suck again doing synced ARR content, hello Cyrcus Tower I missed ya.
Seems you have been having it rough! Sorry you haven't had the best experience with the game! Is there anything you enjoy about the game?

    As for your points:

-I think the zones are quite pretty- they offer different kinds of beauty. Though, imo, HW has some of the prettiest zones. Sea of Clouds is one of my favorites.
-Did you know ever since SB there has been jump puzzles in each city? While it isn't long-term content it does offer some challenge. I think utility can also come down to if a city offers mats for crafters (sometimes exclusive mats). I think that while a lot of cities won't be well-populated as Limsa, I tend to revisit them from time to time. In my experience, Bulmung is the primary one that is in the QS- in other worlds it is usually limsa or the highest level city that has the most players (with a good bit in Kugane)
-A lotta green items make great desynths and sometimes glams
-I've seen videos of people with over 100 players on the screen if not more. My current computer would probably explode if there were that many people. I think the player limit in one area is primarily down to hardware and internet connection. I might be mistaken on this though so do correct me! I am wondering what you mean by not being able to use mounts. Do you mean in city states or something else? Can you elaborate?
-Crafting, fishing, housing decoration (houses, apartments, and/or FC rooms), PoTD/deep dungeons, and blue mage make great content if you ever want something to do! Custom deliveries, while not taking up much time, also offer a little bit of something extra (one even gives you a mount!). I've been watching this youtuber chase as many achievements as he possibly can. Sometimes the completionist route is the most rewarding (and painful- but who doesn't love some pain?) imo. As for ARs, I find it varies which ones I get. Surprisingly, I'm not queued for Crystal Tower very often (even then it can be fun when put in a room full of sprouts. I have seen Cerberus pick off players one after another until everyone is dead). Usually it's HW, SB, or ShB ARs (I have yet to unlock EW ARs).

[QUOTE=Local_Custard;6431070]I do too because I can see so many people enjoying the option! ^^ I really like it when a particular look speaks to other peoples' souls!

Do you think pictomancer will bring in the ability to paint pictures like how bard enables playing music?

    I hope so

I feel like trying out dyes is part of checking it for glam potential in the first place. There are some things that look underwhelming in their default colours but really stunning once you dye them – one that jumps to mind is the Nue coat from PVP, which has a fairly ugly default scheme but dyes override all the colours except the gold highlights and it looks really cool.

My dream squadron was not difficult to get. Yuella is a loyal Gridanian and I was going for recruits who came from Gridania, one for each job. My team is:
Cecily (CNJ), Ceaulie (ARC), Pagneul (LNC), Yehn Amariyo (GLA), Jolaine (MRD), Morel (ACN), Oah Nelhah (PUG), Labonrit (THM).

I'm not a hardcore Blue Mage. All I do is to clear each Masked Carnivale once and complete the storyline. I assume there will be a new story quest and a new Masked Carnivale fight for Blue Mage in Dawntrail. I don't even have all the spells.

    ooh yeah good point!
Though PvP scares me (I have tried it- still scary and not my thing) so not sure if I'll have access to any PvP glams. I should test dye more gear I get from dungeons-

I hesitated to complete the storyline because guides would often suggest spells I lacked. Since I have every spell I might give it a try once my new computer ships
Glad to hear you have your dream team!

Hmmm....I've main'd RDM since mid-SB, and I really like the concept of balancing two "competing resources". So that's my #1. For the other four and in no particular order. PLD, SGE, NIN, and BRD.

I wasn't even trying to pick one from each role, but it just ended up like that anyway. I would have had WHM on there instead of BRD, but any duty below 76 just feels awful when the only consistent AoE heal is medica ii. If they move all the lily spells to pre-50 or just after 50, then WHM is back in my top 5.

My dream design for Pictomancer would have a type of quasi-mudra mechanic where you pick a color, and then a shape, and then maybe a different type of ink (or something else entirely) to create different paintings/spells. Something where the primary gameplay mechanic is like NIN mudra or Invoker from Dota 2. That would be killer. That's probably not the case, but if it were, that would also put it in my top 5. I tend to favor casters in a lot of RPGs, so I'm eager to see what they've come up with for Pictomancer.

In the pictomancer trailer we saw them cast quite a few elemental spells which my guess is they are tied to certain dye/ink colors. So I think each landscape might be a different amount of colors so as you use those gcds it will build palette/color gauge of some kind and when it’s full enough you can paint the landscapes/monsters/weapons. I think different landscapes/weapons/monsters will have different amount of colors you have build.

    I’m can’t wait.

Option to maintain your FFXIV personal headcannon: priceless.
Or you can just buy a fantasia and name change.

I indeed do enjoy the resource management of red mage- gives me slight more choice variety on damage.
I never played ninja so if it is like that I'll definitely want to see how I like it. I would definitely enjoy seeing the different combos of color and shapes and how it builds up. There would some room for error (that is if you are trying to draw something specific), but art is flexible so I can see how color and shape combos eventually add up into many choices. Optimization would likely be much more difficult (or easy if it is just about memorization).

Ohh yeah. Maybe they start like in art classes- primaries and secondaries then it evolves into more between and subtle shades. I can see it evolving into picking your preferred palette to work with. Though, there is definitely enough room to have the whole rainbow. Do you think it might work with mixing colors too?
Also thinking of with this angle, maybe certain materials are in play too. Different kinds of paints have different properties. Maybe considering the paint type is part of it too

I'm interested in the new jobs, new raids and other side content like criterion/foray. But most of all it's the fun of experiencing all the new stuff together with my FC and the rest of the community which is most exciting.
