I'm bored when I heal because I need more complex DPS rotations

Dare to say 'I would like a slightly more complex rotation for healers, for the times when I don't have to heal (TL note, that's like 70% of the time even in high end content)' and it's either BLM or TK MNK that people seem to jump straight to. Meanwhile I'm thinking of things like... a 'rotation' akin to 'BRD without the songs, or Iron Jaws'. That'd be 'maintain two DOTs, use Empyreal Arrow, Bloodletters and Sidewinder (all 3 are OGCDs), spam Burst Shot til you proc, spend proc on Refulgent'. If you consider Shadowflare as a GCD version of Empyreal, what I wrote for SCH is kinda getting there, it would just need something that Broil would 'proc', maybe an empowered version of Ruin2 (call it Kaustra or Meltdown or whatever)

You know, I've been thinking about it and the "you want to turn healers into BLM" argument isn't even that strong. If you look at the standard BLM rotation, you can replace almost any spell with a GCD heal and it wouldn't break your rotation at all, the only time you'd be punished with a broken rotation when using a GCD to heal would be during the AF refreshes because Enochian would fall off.

It's funny because Black Mage has honestly one of the simplest rotations in the game, almost as simple as even Summoner. What makes Black Mage challenging is you have to know when you're supposed to move ahead of time, because Black Mage spends a lot of time casting a spell with a full 2.5 second cast time. At it's core, Black Mage is really just:

3-4-5-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-6-Repeat

It's not just that, but that is the bulk of what you're doing. Throw in your Thunder procs when needed, your Polyglots, and whatever mobility tools you need to perform, and that's pretty much it.
