I don't think "literally like GoT" was on the table. But I would like a darker, more classic high fantasy game with more political intrigue. The politics in Heavensward were something I found really enjoyable.

I'm not certain

Yoshi-P did always get them to read forums and other sources of feedback but he said some time ago that it got to a point where it was vile, personal and awful to read, so I think he had to stop requiring them to read it if it affected their mental health too much. Because mental health is a concern of a team leader, especially in 2024.
I've always said on these forums that things should be said in a respectful and considerate way, so when that happened it supported my point.

Thats depressing. Now we're getting whatever the fuck Solution Nine is.

I think that we need to look at the technology in context. It's being used in a fantastical way.
Let's take the Allagan Empire. Azys Lla is seen as this amazing place to go to, like Disney Land, because technology like that isn't normal elsewhere (other than Garlemald).
Traveling to outer space seems like science fiction, but the way it was used, we went "to the far edge of fate", to fight despair with our belief and hope, then fight Zenos across a backdrop of stars, and united all the warring wiped out races by tapping into their emotional belief and imagination, restoring what once was because they believed. It's remarkable how something so sci-fi still ended up feeling so much like fantasy.
So a cyberpunk-themed city is in the same way going to be treated, not as the norm, but as a museum or like Disney Land. A place nobody normally goes, but when one goes to it, it's unlike anything they normally see. A groundbreaking discovery of sinister technology influencing a world without much technology.
I think it's all okay because of the way it is being used and presented.

Well put honestly but personally S9 is the exception for me, its not blended enough.I think that we need to look at the technology in context. It's being used in a fantastical way.

I'm aware but in this case they meant like, any form of feed back and in the context it was, it was heavily implied they dont wanna see anything said about how their content could be better, they wanna think how it's perfect the first time.Yoshi-P did always get them to read forums and other sources of feedback but he said some time ago that it got to a point where it was vile, personal and awful to read, so I think he had to stop requiring them to read it if it affected their mental health too much. Dragon Age had a level of intrigue and was darker than XIV, but still didn't feel the need to look to GoT or other popular media. If they want to create something with more mature themes and a more political focused plot then just do that, don't look at other media and try and take what made it popular and adapt it to your own.

Whenever people reference wanting things to seem more legitimate by being "just like Game of Thrones" It sets off my fight or flight response. Not a lot makes me more judgemental of a person than if they use GoT as an example of "legitimate" fiction/setting/writing
