We know Matsuno has plans for a 3rd part, involving a liberated Dalmasca, but for whatever reason it hasn't been consolidated into actual plans for the next part.

Well, it might have to do with Matsuno being disenchanted with player blowback at some parts he liked in Return to Ivalice, and general mental health issues post-pandemic. He did mention he'd given his notes to CBU3 so they could make the 3rd part without him, but considering how big a Matsuno fanboy Yoshi-P (and a lot of CBU3, too) is, it's likely they won't dare "step on his toes" to make it without him. So we can just hope for the best.

That's good to hear at least, definitely eases my mind about the story never being finished. Hopefully Matsuno will be able to work on it himself too.

I hope they don't lock the lore if they continue it behind a fieldnote grind because I gave up on collecting them due to the abyssmal drop rate. It's bad design..I don't care for the mount
