Probably not.
Don't expect DT to be different. You'd just be setting yourself up to be disappointed.
If new things come, cool. If they don't, whatever. It's better to just not care.

I'll have to echo this.
Been playing this game for little over a decade now and the devs seem to be extremely comfortable with how they do things, so I'd advise not to look for or expect anything drastic.
Only way I've been able to enjoy the game is by tempering my expectations over time.
Story and characters are going to be... Good.
Gameplay is going to be... Passable. Not great, not horrible, just kinda... there.
On the topic of healing, that's another thing I've made peace with. The state of it, that is. I can tell you, as an irl healthcare provider, that part of the joy I derive from my career comes from the variety and complexity of conditions we face on a daily basis. While it is utterly bonkers to expect something like that to be reflected in-game, I do wish there was some semblance of triaging and decision-making and maybe, just maybe something more than the unga bunga "number go down I make it go up now." The issue is, of course, that this requires a complete overhaul of how damage is even dealt, which... hoooo boy yeah that ain't ever happening lol.
Family Medicine doctor.
Constantly learning.
