When you unlock DRK at level 50 you get the Claymore that this DRK is using and 2 pieces of armour. Just hitting recommended gear should equip it, considering it's higher level than what this person is wearing.



You'd literally have to go out of your way to end up in a situation like this as DRK.

It's... okay, it doesn't even make me angry because it's so absurd.

But really, I think we're forgetting perhaps a little too much that the stats "tenacity", "armor value" (etc etc) are part of a language quite specific to MMORPGs. I've already had to explain that armor isn't just a cosmetic, so I know it's not entirely impossible.

Having said that, if in this case he left the dungeon without saying a word, there's a strong possibility that he's a troll or just a guy who's going to become very unpleasant because he doesn't listen to anyone even though he has huge gameplay problems.

That just makes them unreasonable morons. I know someone who ran through dungeons like AV with mogstore glam items equiped, and I still think she's an idiot because surely some part of her mind should have told her, "This looks pretty but likely has no stats."

Of course, Square helps to further it. You can get into any duty under level 50 with any gear. iLvl restrictions don't start occurring until level 50 duties like the MSQ roulette ones. Even when the restrictions do start popping up, people like this tend to have the habit of equipping the right side with the highest ilvl items they can cause it's quick but they end up being undergeared anyways. Road to 80 Buff enables it a bit cause it overlevels people enough that they can do that too. Add all of this together with the idiot mentors on Hali openly teaching people to YPYT and shirk "offenders" and yeah... new tanks are going to be a lot of fun during DT.

This is the game where people with no job stones run rampant, we have "Ice Mages" and Paladins who want to play a "sword and shield DPS" with their stance turned off, we have people who skip all dialogue and quest text then act confused about what's going on or what to do, we have folks who have no idea what a Vesper Bay aetheryte ticket is, people who run nothing but Crystal Tower every day but still think you can greed Phlegethon's Ancient Flare when he's at 18% HP, and of course the infamous Burger King crown wearers who seem intent to earn their bad reputation at every opportunity. Almost nothing can surprise me at this point -- we're in a barrel with no bottom.

That said, I can say from experience that the "equip recommended" button can screw you over in pre-50 content. I leveled a Warrior through ARR recently and I noticed several times it tried to put an Intelligence ring on me just because it was a higher item level than what I had on. MAYBE that Dark Knight simply never put on the armor that the unlock quest gave him, and the recommended gear button simply gave him the shoddy mage stuff they had in their armory bag..? They could also just be trolling though, I have definitely seen that as well.

Alright I'm back for yet another pain train consisting of 3 stories.

1. Leveling: Vanaspati as a GNB - 33m Clear Time. No wipes, some DPS deaths here & there. DPSes were atrociously slow. DNC... how about you.. try not to... channel Improvisation stacks during uptime... also some funny math tells me that I'm dealing more or less the damage of both DPS combined the entire run. Oml...
   
2. Lv90: The Dead Ends as a WAR - 29m Clear Time. No wipes. Again, all 3 randos were atrociously terrible. WHM and RDM sort of chain raising each other from the floor so many times throughout all boss fights. I'm also... a WAR... just press your dmg buttons, fellas..... ._. I'm fine NOT ganna die lmfao stop the excessive ST heals >.>
   
3. Expert: The Lunar Subterrane as a DRK - 31m Clear Time. Three wipes on 2nd boss. At least one from the two DPS had a fine head on their shoulder this time. The weak link here was the AST. Does not do much outside healing pulls adequately, Divinations, and Combusting. And yet still manage to die at first boss 25%, 2nd boss 75% THREE TIMES (and all wipes), and 3rd boss 80% (clear). Worst of all? They weren't a first timer to the dungeon either.

If one wanted to give the benefit of the doubt, its possible their armory chest was full when the unlocked the class. This could lead to the armor being lost. I only say the armor, because you need a sword to equip the class at all so they either had room for a weapon or made room. Maybe they even left that duty embarassed and fixed their gear afterwards! That is, if one wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. More likely an idiot or a troll then an accident though.

Idk may depend, when I heal roulettes I sometimes ask my tank to remove armor so I have something to heal. Maybe they wanted a little challenge. Doing no gear runs can be fun.

I am carrying a stack of Hyper-Potions as a tank role, to make other healers feel useless as much as possible.
