wait...so I'm actually a stakeholder of Square Enix, Apple, Microsoft, Logitech, Nvidia, Intel, Dell, Starbucks, Nike, Costco Wholesale, Mcdonalds, Amazon, Walmart, Target, Ford Motor, Fedex, American Airlines Group, Coka-cola, Fromsoft, Bethesda, Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, Optimum Nutrition and other 1000+ company from whose service or products I made purchase?

How am I going to fit all those in on my resume?

Stakeholder and shareholder are 2 different things; both important to a company though.

Yeah, just like we didn't influence the addition of male viera and female hrothgar. As for your money statement, that's no different from a shareholder; they use the threat of not funding the company and/or funding the competitionto to make companies make changes. That's literally what we've been doing with square enix since 2012.

TBH it had nothing to do with any exercise of power by "stakeholders" to have male Viera and female Hrothgar added. It basically amounted to giving a whiny child a piece of candy to shut up and go away.

I agree with many points made here, but I just feel like the game is old hat and stale.

The no-butts, no-modifications, poor inventory and UI, poor animation, and stiff quality really detracts from the experience for me. Not to mention the bump mapping and textures make it look like char skin and clothing are flat and made of plasticine.

    I have a 4k 49 inch curves monitor, a 4090, a 5800X, and 64 gigs of ram with 8TB of storage on two NVME2.0s.

Use my hardware to its fullest or let me make adjustments that aren't against TOS. Or make a new MMO with the times.

Also streamline ARR to StB, it's a slog. Many ppl I invite to the game quit cause ARR and never get to see ShB and END which are quality content.

Or do you think they fact they pour most the money we pay in this game into things like Kingdom Hearts Super Bad Rush Job Messy Narrative Dissonance the Gamplay 2.980 Prologue Chi Unchained Hearts Hearts Hearts Hearts and other Playstation Exclusives, means they've given up on the MMO market and see this as a dead end?

    Opinions?

I for one would love to see what they could do, unshackled from the burdens of 1.0's sphaghetti code.
If they did make a new FF MMO, then I would drop this one, just like I dropped FFXI when this game released.

I would rather they continued to upgrade and support this game, but I'm not totally against a new FF-MMO.

Same, but I wouldn't be sad. Eorzea was fun, do was Vanadiel, Ivalice etc

A whole new world, maybe booty that ain't FLAT or concave? Finally able to wear something other than robes without groaning?

    Peak. Perfection. Bliss.

Better yet. Going back to having staple FF series mechanics that helped define the RPG genre.

It was that even when it released, to be honest. I mean, putting many of the game's features on a website called the "lodestone" that looks like it's from the early 2000s instead of in the game itself wasn't modern even when ARR released. It was a bit hit and miss from the beginning and my example was sort of reflected in the game in some areas. However, the graphics were good for the time it released compared to its pixelated and cartoony competition.

    and stale
That is, always has been and always will be, an opinion. They are consistent. They do accept the need for some new ideas, so a section of content is their "try new things" slot.
    • In ARR, they used that slot to create alliance raids and coil raids.
    • In Heavensward, they used that slot to create deep dungeons and Diadem.
    • In Stormblood, they used that slot to create Ultimates and Eureka.
    • In Shadowbringers, they used that slot to create Ocean Fishing and Ishgard Restoration.
    • In Endwalker, they used that slot to create Variant Dungeons and Island Sanctuary.
    • In Dawntrail it looks like it will be used to create Cosmic Exploration and a different take on deep dungeons.
There are games that go fully on the concept not being stale by having a Battle Pass system where things change completely every few months. But I personally don't like FOMO because, well, it means you've missed out if you're too late. I wouldn't want the game to be like that. I like the predictability and consistency.

    no-modifications
I don't think they need to allow these necessarily but being able to fix jank better would be nice. For example, we were told they can't make tooltips show if items are already obtained, then they went back on that statement and added it to the game. There have been a few on the FFXIV team that think things are impossible and that's not a good mindset. There is always a way or a workaround.

    poor inventory and UI
Following on from what I was saying, with the right mindset, issues with inventory and housing could be solved as well, especially if they use cloud services.

Use my hardware to its fullest or let me make adjustments
Most games are designed for "average hardware" that the majority of people have or have better than, tbh. It's always been like that. It's not a good business move to sell a game that only a relative few people are capable of playing when you could get far more sales.

I think to a certain degree, they can make it so the default settings work with the majority of hardware but allow the settings to go higher. But that is only going to work for some things, because for example they can't so easily change the amount of objects or detail they have created in the environments.

Also streamline ARR to StB, it's a slog. Many ppl I invite to the game quit cause ARR and never get to see ShB and END which are quality content.
That's never gonna happen, obviously. What they could do is just allow people to start at Dawntrail for free. Or they could start a future expansion without making direct references to the past unless you've completed prior quests.

Such as? Because the first Final Fantay had sections of tech, machina, things that look magic and are actually tech, etc etc. And God Killing.

I think thematically we're right were we're supposed to be. FF6-FF7-FF8 all had tech aspects, so did FF9 with the airships.

So if you're sour about Solution 9, I don't think that's valid personally.

Now if you mean... That they don't flesh out interparty interactions, I agree. Later titles showed the party bonding, for example FF10, they showed their growth personally and intrapersonally. I want that for the Scions, outside deaths in ARR.

I think this would help the game so much, right now it feels like joining at like, the middle season of a show. You don't start LOST at Season 3. Etc.
