If I order a pizza and its made wrong, I'm going to order another pizza. The pizzeria shouldn't make me keep the incorrectly made dish and tell me I need to give it a chance. I don't know why this is any different.

Because it's not a pizzeria where they custom make every pizza to order for each customer. They make only one type of pizza and everyone who buys gets that one type.

You can tell them they made it wrong but they've got hundreds of thousands of other customers who say the pizza is fine. They're not going to turn around and make a special pizza just for you.

That's when you call them, provide evidence that what you ordered was incorrect (usually a photo + receipt) and then get a refund (or get a new pizza sent your way). Also note that this is something that is only affecting you personally because you're using a pizzeria as an example and not something that affects thousands of people at the exact same time (patch day).

Mind you, I'm Australian. We have consumer laws where the customer has the right to demand a refund. Dunno about America.

I believe America is largely based on a per company policy rather than law in this regard.
In my experience, there's no "right" to a refund. A store can say upfront that refunds are not allowed.
This actually might influence how people react to perceived bad products.

Your opinion is still valid, but you must understand you're in the minority and so calls for a recasting come off as especially harsh and unwarranted.

People are also not going to post their grievances on Twitter.

And this thread is mostly filled with woke/allies vs transphobes, which both groups are massively annoying, so there is barely any discussion even here.

Places like Twitter and Reddit are typically known as Yoshipper sites. As in Yoshi-P Worshippers. They would have "Fallen in love" with just about anything and everything SE decided to use no matter what it was. It's really hard to take a lot of the stuff in places like Twitter and Reddit seriously when it's often used to farm engagement by being disingenuously positive or clout chasing. Though I am sure a vast majority of it is probably sincere on most subjects a handful of the time.

The others is if anything just as horrible, just because they got a heavy British accent, does not make it any better and in general NPCs you interact with.

The one think I can notice consistently about their performance is just that lack of ability to convey emotion. When they are just talking at you or expositing, the voice sounds fine. Not great, not awful, just fine. It is when they try to put any emotion or gravitas to their performance that their voice just break down. Whether it is down to lack or training, experience, or bad direction, I hope that they can improve before Dawntrail, otherwise it will be difficult to get invested in any sort of emotional moments.

Honestly, that's the thing with this forum. It is filled primarily with the noisiest pessimists and 'phobes in the fanbase, not even the FFXIV subreddit gets this bad.

It's little wonder the dev team ignores this place.

Not everyone lives in America, it's all over the world and I'm frankly tired that we should only follow Neo-Americas way of life. We have religious people playing 14, people from Arabic countries, people from Europe, people from Asian countries. You may point transphobes because it's "Your" and "others" way to silence, I'm sorry reality doesn't work that way. So far this forum rather keeps a neutral ground than suspending/banning people because "they offended me", and a pack of subreddit pages double downs that notion.

Seriously we cannot even say anything without getting accused "Transphobe".

Not once in my posts (If they exist) I talked about the VAs identity, all I said is it's bad acting and accent doesn't fit.

You can't call it "overwhelmingly positive" when any criticism outside of the forums gets deleted and those individuals blocked or banned. You can look at the appreciation thread and see it's barely received a fraction of the activity the other threads on this topic have. You may not like the official forum because it doesn't align with your opinion but the activity difference between those 2 posts paints a pretty clear picture.

Right. It's wrong/unprofessional to demand someone be fired/replaced. If you thought I'd turn around and say "well that's different." Nah mate. I understand where Sena is coming from, but it's still unprofessional, even if it's for accurate representation.
Much like how it's wrong and entitled of Karious to demand Sena be fired for supposedly doing bad voice work for Wuk Lamat. That's something that should entirely be on the director/coach whatever.

I mean, you're kind of doing exactly that. You're sweeping it under the rug with a "It's wrong, BUT I understand it". You really are saying "well that's different".
The VA you're defending is guilty of the exact same thing you're chastising others for, and not even from years ago, less than a year ago they made that statement and targeted other VAs to try to get them removed and recast.

I personally just want a better voice and I don't care how it's done, but man, seeing that Sena, less than a year ago pointed out other VAs to their followers to call on them to be recast is extremely cringe, even more than people will defend that even today.

and there's some more cringe in that thread of her calling out the VAs that they aren't allies and are potentially transphobic if they don't step down to let trans people be cast in their roles.

This is people's livelihoods and just like it's wrong to call for Sena Bryer to be yanked off the cast immediately, especially for being trans, it is also wrong to call for experienced VAs to be pulled from their roles they have built, and be recast because of their gender identity.
No "but", no "but I get where she's coming from", no "but I understand why she's doing it". It's wrong and this is extremely unprofessional and childish.

It doesn't work that way.

People tend to only speak out when they have a negative experience and rarely when they tolerate or even enjoy something. Don't let the fact that there is more discourse in this forum about Wuk Lamat than not lead you to believe that the majority of players have an issue with her.

You can take an in-depth look at this forum in general and find there are far more topics and posts dealing with negative reception than positive, it's just the way we are as society. If you are enjoying something you rarely feel the need to jump up and down, excited, and yelling it to the world. However, as soon as something really upsets or bothers you, you feel a more compelling need to complain and seek validation and support from others.
