Eos is totally fine, the problem is the fact that seraph is a demi that messes up your action queue on both sides of its summoning when seraph doesn’t need to exist because you can achieve the same thing by simply having rouse as a skill that you cast on eos that would turn fey blessing into consolation

Scholar used to be my main healing class purely because I could be in the middle of casting Adlo on the tank, and simultaneously commanding Eos to move and heal a DPS that was out of my reach while I was casting, right before commanding it to cast group regen and throwing up additional party-wide mitigation. It was fantastic and empowering to have that level of precise control and multi-task management in a single job. Ever since I lost the hotkeys to command Eos, I kinda drifted until Sage was released, which felt a little more demanding and less reliant on a pet I couldn't take off of Auto-Heal and control manually.
Now that you've mentioned it, I kinda miss having a macro to force Embrace a specific player.Scholar used to be my main healing class purely because I could be in the middle of casting Adlo on the tank, and simultaneously commanding Eos to move and heal a DPS that was out of my reach while I was casting, right before commanding it to cast group regen and throwing up additional party-wide mitigation. /pac Embrace <mo>
/pac Embrace <tt>
/pac Embrace <t>
/pac Embrace <me>
I hope we have an ability in the 91-100 range that does this.
Or probably remove Physick and give the pet a level 1 single target ability.

I used to love micro-managing Egi back in the day on SMN:Scholar used to be my main healing class purely because I could be in the middle of casting Adlo on the tank, and simultaneously commanding Eos to move and heal a DPS that was out of my reach while I was casting, right before commanding it to cast group regen and throwing up additional party-wide mitigation. - Garuda - Cast your DoT's (spread them if there's multiple mobs) then command Garuda to cast Contagion to refresh all DoT's once they got to about 10s.
- Titan - Possible to tank many dungeons (Back in 3.0 - I was in a Great Gubal Hard run (Latest Hard mode dungeon at the time) where the tank quit at the start - So I tanked the whole dungeon with Titan and we never wiped)
- Ifrit - Could command him to cast Radiant Shield which gave the party a damage mitigation shield.
*In boss fights it felt great to swap between Garuda - Casting Contagion, Then Ifrit - Casting Radiant Shield. All the while casting my own DoT/Dreadwyrm/Deathflare rotation!
I'd like to comment on this one. I loved it when the pets had purpose other than extra entities cluttering the screen. Here's to hoping that Beastmaster in Dawntrail will give the devs the insight on how to improve upon SMN/SCH.
Don't forget YP mentioned some sort of 'collection system'. Whatever that means?
Is like WoW's stables where you can swap your pet? Is just a cosmetic skin for your active pet entity? You have a set amount of pet animations for the spells and those extra 'collectibles' are for just pet x pet battles?

Exactly! Back then pets had a purpose and could be used in various ways:
- Ifrit - Great for single targets, especially bossing
- Garuda - Great for AoE and maintaining DoT's
- Titan - Great for emergency tanking and solo play/overworld content
Now the pets do literally nothing...They look so dumb just floating there during battle until one of the Gemshine Summons or Demi's pop in...But I'd be pissed if the devs remove pets all together from SMN

I may be misremembering but it wasn't too long into HW when Titan quit being able to actually hold aggro or take hits to be an effective tank, or at least effective with a party doing any kind of damage.

I tanked all of Great Gubal (Hard) with Titan...Pretty sure it was SB where he lost the ability to tank. Not that it really matters of course - The point was to facilitate that SMN pets once had their own purpose and some semblance of identity - Something current SMN lacks...
