    They exist because THIS game allows it.
    - Are we gonna balance/build the game around players who press one heal button?

    Neglectance to learn and fulfill your your role is griefing..( be it healer/tank or dps)

    we already did. everything turns into asthetics only.
    story? has always been more cutscene than anything else.
    healer? no comment
    summoner? they took the pet and turned it into fancy lights, people love it.
    a-raids? a lot of fancy mechanics... people love it.

    You missed the point. The goal is to let players from both end of the spectrum to enjoy their gameplay. Why does it always have to be one and not the other? Why not both? Raise the skill ceiling (engaging downtime activities). Let the skill floor (minimum healing requirement) remains, or at least not significantly affected.

    Seriously, one thing I believe every person agrees on with Current healer design is how much damage the healers do, it’s the way they generate said damage that is the problem

    We can also be reasonable comfortable that oGCD sylphies don’t exist, healers are either trying to do damage and use oGCD’s, falling back onto GCD’s when they fail at different rates based on their skill or they are just outright sylphies who think medica 2 is the 14 equivalent to 42 being the answer to the universe

    Thing is both these playstyles can actually co-exist-

    1) make GCD healing cheap/free- if the sylphies want to press medica 2 then sure it’s annoying you lose some of their damage but they aren’t going to change so they shouldn’t be punished for it, also has the side benefit of removing the lucid death roulette

    2) cut the oGCD bloat- not saying they all need to go but skills such as fey blessing, divine bension, celestial intersection, minor arcana, ixochole, indom as much as I love protraction all the 86 single target spells besides aquaveil

    3) reduce mitigation checks, increase chip damage- as it is regen healers are next to useless currently, we don’t need a repeat of god kefka (please never do another god kefka) to fix this problem

    4) make healers do the same damage they currently do in a far more interesting way

    I can't speak for 1-3 as I've only ever healed current extreme trials in terms of difficulty with the healer role, but 4 is the exact reasoning for this thread. Imagining if all 4 healers actually had different DPS rotations like any other job in the game not only makes me excited to dream about, but also angry that they don't already.

    YES! I want far far far more complex DPS rotations for healers so they can stay on point with DPS and not get bored waiting for someone to heal. I want to see their DPS fail if they have to stop half-way through the rotation to heal someone.

    Make it like the old BLM where we had to work hard to keep up Enochian. If we failed, we had to wait until Enochian fell off cooldown before we could restart our rotation.

    It would be great if healers had to do that as well. Right now, healers have too much focus on healing. They need to DPS more.
