When we were watching it live I was trying to set up a joke about Space Allagans but I paused because the "QR-code"-looking square character text caught me off-guard. As far as I recall off the top of my head, we've only seen Allag use writing like that (so far). It made me just wary enough to maybe not completely dismiss them, yet. We'd have to keep playing linguistic shenanigans but if you look at the EE2 entry on the evolution of language it might be...workable...ish.

They also teased further lost Allagan facilities at the end of Orthos, though that obviously could refer to anything.

We've got a lot of more-sensational theories that are surely going to get most of the attention until we get there.

Though, imho, the billboard on the top level of the art (where the red lights and DANGER warnings are) seems to show a Miqo'te. Kinda fun imagining how that might fit in.

I just REALLY don't want it to be Allagans, Ancients, or Garleans again.

As far as we know, Allag conquered the Three Great Continents and then moved on to Meracydia in the years before the fall. They must've known that Tural existed because they've gone to space but from this point onward I think we need something more unique than the "usual suspects" so I hope they passed it over. The Allagan Empire didn't like Miqo'te so it would be strange if it was a relic of the Allagan Empire, but it's also been 6000 years.

"Lost Heritage" makes me think of time travelers from the future, especially with them contrasting against the people of Shaaloani who are said to be maintaining tradition in the face of ceruleum mining and steam trains, but the proto-Eorzean alphabet throws me. Shaaloani uses the modern Eorzean alphabet, could Solution Nine be from Xak Tural's past then and it's actually Solution Nine that's Xak Tural's "Lost Heritage" and not the other way around?

    Just some thoughts.

I wonder how much we'll find out during next week's patch.

    So from my understanding...

Gulool Ja Ja currently sits on the throne of Tuliyollal. There's a contest, or 'right of succession,' to determine who will succeed him. From what was said at JP fanfest, it sounds like there will be many people competing, not just Gulool's kin. Gulool is potentially the one who sent the letter to petition the aid of Galuf in an investigation of the Golden City. The letter potentially never reached Galuf, and is found much later by Krile. Urianger and Thancred have recently been contacted by some 'client' for unknown work, though we know they'll be going to the new world. We know the WoL will be contacted by Wuk Lamat and lend her aid in some form. Wuk Lamat (adopted) and another individual (who's name I forgot I'm so sorry) are the children of Gulool Ja Ja.

So, theory time. Wuk Lamat is petitioning the aid of the WoL and handful of fellows in her quest to claim the throne of Tuliyollal. Her brother is potentially doing the same by enlisting Thancred, Urianger, and fellows, and this will be the """splitting""" between the Scions. Wuk Lamat comes to meet us in person, obviously. I'm guessing the letter Krile finds will be brought up and thrust into significance. I'm predicting her swapping to Pictomancy will be in an effort to find some way to restore the letter the legibility, and at the very least take us to the Isle of Haam, according to the teaser screenshots. We restore the letter, we get the game plan, roll credits, and then sob as we wait 5-6 months.

The Solution 9 weirdness is very quickly taking a back seat to my interest in this plot with Wuk Lamat and company. Really want to see how this goes in Dawntrail now.

We know the Allagans had contact with at least some representatives of Tural: there are Mamool Ja (named "Haokah") adds in Syrcus Tower.

It's possible these are the rare Mamool Ja travellers who journeyed to Eorzea (and got caught up in Allagan shenanigans), but that seems very un-Allagan to me; I would imagine the Allagans would at least establish a route that shipped Mamool Ja "subjects" (or slaves, probably) to Eorzea regularly.

The letter was sealed when Krile opened it, so it is unlikely that it made its way to Galuf unless he resealed it. The EE Vol. 2 (p.120) mentioned that Galuf travelled distant lands with three other companions (perhaps a reference to FFV's Dawn Warriors), so it's possible that Gulool Ja Ja knows him from his earlier adventures in the region, either personally or by reputation. If Gulool is looking to find a successor, my guess is that the actual contest itself may involve finding said Golden City. Wuk Lamat may simply have been sent as a messenger by Gulool to seek the guidance of the Students of Baldesion on the matter, and may not necessarily be in the running (yet). We'll have to wait and see.

I think the actual split itself will occur when everyone actually gathers at Yok Tural and has a chance to meet the candidates and hear their philosophies. It may be that the other half of the split ends up conducting their search far to the south, while our expedition heads north.

Already posted this in another thread but feel its relevant
The seeds for Solution 9 were potentially mentioned a long time ago, back when we learned about the lore for the Xaela tribes, specifically for the Haragin.

The legends of this coastal tribe tell of a group of their ancestors who crafted a giant ship and sailed out across the endless eastern ocean. The explorers are said to have returned with tales of a terrible island covered in massive grey monoliths and inhabited by fire-breathing steel demons.
East for them would have them land on the New World, unless they encountered another isle along the way. Leads me to believe that Solution 9 has been around for a while, though that doesn't necessarily mean they've been very active.

Either way it was very redeeming for me when I saw Solution 9's trailer pop up, I'm going to enjoy the Wild West zone we're getting before it along with the rest of the expansion but this is incredible. Having been trying to call it for a long time, I feel vindicated.

I'm wary of accepting those as actual Mamool Ja until we are told so canonically. It may have just been borrowing the models as the closest-looking thing to represent the FF3 creatures.

I wouldn't be surprised if that Cyberpunk city is for the last zone Hub. It looks so cool

Usually the last zone is an out of nowhere surprise that no one could have predicted even if their life depended on it. For them to show it to us, I'm betting we go there before level 95.

I think it's really obvious that it's the secondary city, the Eulmore or Radz-at-Han (which therefore makes Heritage Found the equivalent of Kholusia or Thavnair), and I think people are sending themselves down a very wrong road by thinking it's anything else.
