Yeah, it's just wishful thinking on my part. The whiff of ancient high tech is unmistakable. You're never going to escape the Ancients or the Allagans. I am sorry to say this.
Obviously I hope DT doesn't build up a plot with a new threat that is entirely based around either, but it shouldn't be surprising if we run into references or details recalling either group.
The complaints about further lore or story details involving the ancients are essentially the equivalent of being an archeologist and being upset you've dug up bones.
This comment made me realize why someone insisted on Venat being good. "Our loving mommy goddess is torturing us, on purpose, to make us strong," seemed like an insane direction to go in if you want a feelgood story. But the goal was to convince themselves and the players that their suffering and pain had meaning, purpose.Another issues I've noticed since covid, is that a lot of narratives in media have become filled with overly hopeful or overly cynical narratives. And given the many natural disasters Japan suffers from, the multiple rebuilding efforts in the country, how depression sky rocketed during Covid and from these events, i can understand having a feel good msg that encourages hope and love and that life is still filled with so many wonderful things. I can understand wish fulfillment. But I also just want to enjoy detaching from the world and having a fun unique narrative to grab onto and see cool world building and interesting characters.
So While I can't blame them, this definitely was a point that I know resonated with quite a few, but for many others fell flat . I hope in the future they can get back to more mature narratives that don't feel like you're trying to tell your kids life isn't so bad after a traumatic experience. =\
No it don't, which is why we should keep working to reduce and alleviate it at every possible opportunity.
There will be new characters questing with us in Dawntrail judging by the promotional art, so it's already a lot better than Endwalker.
I’m excited about the new catboi in the artwork, graha has been sucking the life out of that field for a while now and I just think he is as remotely interesting as he was when he was the crystal exarch
I’m ambivalent on him dying in 5.3 but I don’t really like where they are taking his character, at this point I pretty much only still like him because I’m pre-disposed to liking all catboi’s
By the way I can't put any faith in the current English localization manager when she can't even pronounce Bozja right, even right after Yoshida himself said it a few seconds before her translation.
I like him because I feel they did the merge well. They found a way where he's still a dorky kid and a wise old sage at the same time, somehow.I’m excited about the new catboi in the artwork, graha has been sucking the life out of that field for a while now and I just think he is as remotely interesting as he was when he was the crystal exarch

How did she say it?
I would say it should be "Boz-ya" since they're Slavic but most people I talk to use a hard-j. It doesn't help that the whole questline isn't voice acted.
I said that in another thread that I would like the story of DT to more of a focus on the WoL possibly speaking on how they're used as a tool by the Scions and many political groups in the world at times. I feel like that could be the driving factor of what makes them go seperate ways for the MSQ, as well as a means to add more depth to the friendships with the scions and add depth to our position as the MC of the game. This comment made me realize why someone insisted on Venat being good.
