I don't want to just call them liars about things like this but development takes a while and plans change so don't get too excited about anything because this is all probably a very long time off.
If we're in "promise the world stage" and Yoshi is saying "low priority this" "can't do that (mch box)" I fear for what the future holds /s

Statistically healer has also been the least played role at endgame from the beginning before and after the supposed guttings. That has never not been the case so your theory that people quit healer due to simplification doesn't hold much weight. The role is no less popular now than it was in the past - the stats are about the same as ever.

TLDR it's true that your average player doesn't care as much as you might think because they believe healer jobs are intimidating anyway. Overall it does not surprise me to see this entirely ignored when they could ask about Viera/Hrothgar headgear or glamour plates.
Respectfully, a lot of "healer issues" come down to bad tanks not using their mitigations properly or completely ignoring potions in low level content (which heal for a massive amount on a low 1m CD) especially with how self sustaining tanks are these days.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
