A lot of us don't want instanced housing. We want more resources dedicated to neighborhood housing instead of half-allocated resources to two different half-baked ideas. Neighborhood unique yay! Instanced bland booo!
I am propably like most players in this game and play for raiding/crating/glamouring and find housing to be a very nice inbetween thing to do, but not worth throwing everything away and move to another server or another game even. But i did play another MMO, and i know how a good instanced housing system can be and that any shortcomings it might have compared to wards can be patched over with some clever additions. Ward housing is giant hole that you'd need to pour so many resources into to make it even remotely satisfying and fair for all players interested in it.

Play a game that has instanced housing in it.

    Period.

You dont care much about it anyway as you yourself are saying, so why does it matter if you have a house or not ?

Thank you for your incredibly insightful suggestion, but I'd much rather prefer to play games I want to play. Improvements in housing as suggested in my opinion would be a great boon and very fun thing to have around but not something I lose my sleep over with.

It's an improvement to you and the minuscule part of the community that wants instanced housing.

The system we have is fine, it just needs more wards, dynamic wards would be the optimal way to do this.

I will repeat again, if you want instanced housing so much, you can have it in a different game, FFXIV has ward housing not instanced and that's just the way it is and is going to be in the future, the devs are very satisfied with how housing works in this game, and yes that includes the scarcity, they don't want housing to be apartments 2.0.

If you want a miserable experience with a house alone in the middle of nowhere with pregenerated scenery and houses, have at it in other games.

We already have 1 system that needs improvement, we don't need 2.

Given how often the subject of how people are frustrated with housing i am willing to expect that the amount of people who would be interested in housing alternatives might not be so miniscule. People just don’t care enough about housing to say anything at all, or are just not aware that they can ask for something different, or that there are alternatives at all.

I really don’t expect the dynamic wards to be the resolution to those problems you’d expect. Unless what you expect is endless strings of empty lavender beds wards, with only large 29 or whatever that popular spot is. Or people getting bullied into claiming unwanted spots just so a new ward can open, for others to claim better places. Not to mention the processing power it would require to have such dynamically allocated memory would be most likely very hard to achieve.

If devs were so satisfied with this system they would not give us apartments to get the most basic experience of housing. Or they would not give us island sanctuary outdoor furnishing so we can use those without at least a small house. Or they would not have to turn off the auto demo every time some disaster struck. Besides if we would take
“devs made it this way so we should accept it as it is” we would still be stuck on 1.0 gameplay rules. No system was sacred before so why does this one must stay as it is? People are not so satisfied and while I do not consider housing that big of a deal for many, it can be part of a larger sum of little nitpics that would make people leave.

And if you want to fight dozens of people for a spot and be at the mercy of RNG just to land next to a gingerbread house surrounded with namazu effieges then be my guest. I am not asking for wards to be removed. Just an alternative

just remember, the community got the lottery system it asked for. It accounted for those who dont have the time to play every day and its completely fair, and noone has a leg up on anyone regardless of playtime.

Wanting the game to account for everybody reduced their own chances of winning and made getting a house take longer. An unexpected byproduct of people expecting competition for their plot of choice was gonna remain at 3-5 hardcore dedicated and not 15-30 players vying for the same plot.

And given how Island Sanctuary has complaints about being isolated and away from everyone. Do players think Instanced Housing is gonna be different? Itll likely be friend-list restricted, so players interested in venus wont touch it. Most players wont touch it after its done due to its limited accessibility moreso isolating them from the rest of the community.

I wasn't that invested in housing around the time and i didn't know it was change brought about on the forums.(i didn't even know forums were a thing at a time). Anyway the problem with housing isn't based on it's fair distribution and how people get the houses. It's the supply and demand problem. Not even the most sophisticated system in the world designed to distribute houses would be enough for everyone interested to be satisfied, if there is not enough houses for everyone. Instanced housing was meant to solve that problem and be a new subtype of housing, not a modification to wards housing. Besides what kind of argument is that "we asked for lottery so we have to deal with it" are we to be punished for asking for unfair and bad system to be changed? Are we supposed to just accept bad housing in otherwise great game just because one small solution didn't fix all the problems?

Island Sanctuary is it's own bag of problems one of them being that there is next to nothing you can do with friends or other people. It appears it was purposefully designed to be this way, to quote "your own personal paradise". So only allowing your friend list to access your island seemed to be deliberate choice. Now i am not here to say if it's good or bad decisions but coupled that with very hands off gameplay that was heavly time gated, that's what caused island sanctuary to be left behind by many people.

Then again the introduction of outdoor furnishings brought many people back and made island more enjoyable for many. Going back to the subject one thing coming with "package" of instanced housing would have to be some alternative way of accessing houses. Perhaps as a link in chat you can share or put in adventures plate that allows you to access that persons house?

That not mentioning the fact that venues are rather smaller part of how houses are used and many would prefer to decorate houses for their own sake and fun, not caring if others will see it or not.
