    The main problem with the role quests were that they were all the same. There was no real difference between the healer role quest and the tank role quest, or the magical dps role quest. Same story for each role, and the while there were some minor differences in fight mechanics those differences had little to do with your role.

    You could have condensed all the level 80 role quests into a single "role quest", and all the level 90 role quests into a single "role quest", and almost nothing would have been lost.

    The story for the role quests wasn't bad - it is just that it was the same story, with minor variations, for each role.

    The 80 quests had to do with the role as it followed a party member of said role. It kinda made sense as the event happened on another shard, and you still had a small job quest.

    The 90 quests roles could be swapped in any order and it wouldn't change anything.
    There was no reason to not do ANY job quest ; heck, it could have been a great way for Job quest NPC to push themselves and fight the apocalypse each in their own way.
    90 roles quests were not bad, but putting them as role quests was just cheap.
