    You don't seem to have made an attempt to understand why healers are asking for these changes, that much is clear.

While that is a change that's been called for a number of times, and it does make sense for several reasons- no, it's far from the only change required.

    I love it because it's a microcosm of how the developers and the playerbase at large sees our role. Arrogant know nothing DPS mains who incessantly insist that we exist to facilitate their fun, and if we wanted to have fun too, we'd go pick a DPS job. As healers, we're all just too stupid to see the brilliance that the true protagonists of this game, the DPS and Tank mains, understand. Didn't you know? Healers... heal. :mindblown:

    I wasn't going to reply on this thread anymore since my intent here was just give my breadcrumb in a small bubble that likes to enforce... questionable changes, but since you in particular replied, I'll do an additional one.

    This comment on the first page of this thread left me in disbelief. If you translate this reasoning to most real life scenarios... well, it won't be good for you. The fact that this comment in particular has so many upvotes shows who are usually (not everyone) the people asking for this type of change. Extremely selfish behavior.

    Someone in the thread also commented about healers having no "skill ceiling" as one of the big things that need change. If you think that, you probably never joined a PF and only plays content with your static. The healers difference in skill level can be ABYSMAL even with today's standards. Do you think it's easy and boring as it is? Well, a lot of people still suck even under these conditions, and even if you think doing more damage is the "fun" you can have as a healer, some people might think otherwise, that's your personal opinion of it. Same vibes as "my AOE is now a circle instead of a cone, game is literally unplayable".

    It's basically this. If people, as it is, can already be terrible playing the job, imagine if it was made more complicated, even slightly. Having a lower entry level for people to get better at playing is better than it being higher and filtering out people. Well, not really filtering, since they'd still be on PF parties but would just be even more terrible at it than they were before. What I could consider a good option is a healer class with more dps options, to satiate this need, instead of revamping the whole healer classes system to conform to the preferences of a small vocal minority that feels "bored" playing healer but for some reason still play it.

    A dead horse that has been completely atomized in these forums has been how changes can work to make healers easier for casuals by removing more punishing aspects, like how Roe and I have suggested making basic spammable heals cost 0 mp. Or how taking damage out of your filler and into your other, restrictive tools like a DoT or cooldowns makes every GCD spent on healing less of a DPS loss since the pressure to use every GCD on DPS decreases, something that has currently never been higher. But go off on how we want to crush the casuals, person who knows less about the healer role than I know about ancient Sanskrit.

    I just love people who think if one person isn’t responsible enough to play with the plastic knives responsibly, that no one can. Please continue to police my ability to enjoy FFXIV, I know you don’t believe I deserve to enjoy the game, because then there’s a chance you might die in a dungeon because some casual healer won’t be able to optimize their DPS output as much, and will cause you to hit the invisible enrage. My fun is not deserved.

    However, the answer to your conumdrum is that the world doesn't revolve around you, as shocking as it might sound. Just because you don't like how it is currently, doesn't mean the game needs to change a whole system for, specifically, yours truly. I don't even know how you can think that's a good argument and not a self entitlement fantasy.

    I got a bad DPS on a dungeon run ; not just once, bt at least 3 times !

    DPS only need two gcd buttons : one for ST, one for AoE
    Maybe another button that applies a buff or a debuff.
    Every 20s they gain one point of their gauge that they can spend on 2 whole new attacks (one ST, one AoE - with charges so they can be used twice in a row ! ).
    If that's not enough, they can still play with their role actions.

    Self-entitlement fantasy is "I want healers to be as simple as possible so there's less of a chance that some noob is going to waste my time in DFs and PFs, and I don't care how many players lose their favorite role or playstyle as long as I get what I want."

    Posts like these just make me really happy they're gutting every DPS job and making them easier to play. I want every DPS job completely gutted and I want it now. I hope they do it to MNK and BLM next expansion too. I hate it when DPS players waste my time by not playing optimally, I don't care about their personal enjoyment of the game. I am the main character, only my fun matters. Every DPS job should be comparable to Summoner at max levels of optimization. My time is important, after all. I'm very excited for them to finally do it with Dragoon in Dawntrail! I can't wait for them to finally kill that terrible play style so the true Dragoons can finally play Dragoon.

    That's a good point. Maybe if the DPS didn't have such complicated rotations, they wouldn't die so much in DF or PF. And that's the cardinal sin of FFXIV: being mildly inconvenient to someone else's video gaming experience. That just made me extremely excited to see this upcoming dragoon rework.
