It is a bit excessive to charge $10 for eye color. I think we should be able to change everything except race and gender at the aesthetician.

The Aesthetician should be able to change everything except the race as far as I'm concerned. I don't get why people still let gender be left out, when even WoW lets you pay like 10 gold to change gender at the barber shop. Of all the fantasia addicts I know they always change race. If gender is changed at all, it is also done while changing the race. The rest of us who decide to actually stick with our race shouldn't be punished with such a static model for all of eternity. If someone is changing anything other than race with a fantasia it's probably because of some basic mistakes like not moving some sliders all the way up (or down) or picking the wrong voice. Maybe a skin color didn't look near as accurate in the menu as it does in the actual game. But that is usually solved with our free fantasia from the MSQ. If you get the collectors edition rewards you can also get a second fantasia for every character you make. More than enough for the needs of non-fantasia addicts.
So square isn't losing any money at all if they just buffed what this guy can do for us.
Same. I don't really like my character's heterochromia as much and want to go back to having regular eyes, but I don't want to use a fantasia to do it. Looking back the choice feels childish and I mostly did it because the game has so little choices in character customization to help make your character stand out more naturally.
You guys chose to make your character how they are. The game also gives you a free fantasia in the MSQ.
If you're unhappy with your character, that's on you at that point.
You're all asking for SE to give something for free that they currently charge for (and it sells rather well). On top of that, the MMOs department was down in terms of profits lately.
It would be nice to be able to change anytime but this is the most obvious "not gonna happen" I've seen in a while.
So make a new character or pay. Those are your options.
People aren't asking for a full on free fantasia. People are asking for more of the basic customization options to be added to the aesthetician. Fantasias should be for bigger changes like race/gender and overall body shape/size. You shouldn't be paying 10 USD to change your eyes, facial markings and facial features. You guys chose to make your character how they are. The game also gives you a free fantasia in the MSQ.

I am in the team #SpentAFantaToChangeTheEyeColor.
Cheers
THEY ARE BLOODY EYE COLORS, NOT PERFORMING VOODOO MAGICYou guys chose to make your character how they are. The game also gives you a free fantasia in the MSQ.

you are asking a lot of work for a niche problem.I read a great suggestion earlier from someone where they posed the idea that there should be a timer mechanic after using a Fantasia:Once the character finished re-editing their character, there should be a 1-3 hour window where they are allowed to go back and re-edit up to 2 more times. This would give the player time to visit their favorite zones, wait through a few day/night cycles, do some G-pose, try on some new clothes, etc., to get a feel for how their new character looks in different circumstances.
You could create a toon and test him/her (for days) where it matters the most: near the aetherite of Limsa AND in your house.
Maybe SE could add the clothes (the glamour plates) in the editor.
On the other hand I think the skin color change should be ingame in some way, not so sure about eyes (the WoL does not use contact lenses).
When you did that huge tattoo with your boy/girlfriend name, you KNEW it would cost you to remove it, right?

True. But you should not use the standard aether crystal background when you create or change your character. Because it is too blue-ish and alters the colors. That was the reason why i spent a fanta to change the eye colors. They were too pink and i wanted violet eyes. xD
Cheers
People ask for quality of life changes all the time. To call this a niche problem when there's a considerable part of the community that would appreciate this is an understatement. It's not on you to judge what is niche and what is not.
Unfortunately glams aren't account wide, so you can't test those, and there's a lot of areas in this game besides Limsa and your house. Your house also isn't constant.
I actually laughed. You're trying to get a "gotcha" on me by using a rl example, when you provided another rl example that's solved. People cover their tattoo's with make-up all the time, and a lot of people even order custom semi-permanent tattoos these days too.
None of that matters though, because this is a game not real life. Also, did you really try to sneak a random assumption about my real life as a means of discrediting me? You sound like a deranged boomer.
